Hugs Shrewbie - on the grand scale of things eating cheese is probably quite low down on the self destructive what have I done! scale. :rotfl: Good job on not hitting the booze. Sounds like you are becoming more self aware and getting rid of some learnt behaviour.
I must admit, even after 20 odd years of being an alleged responsible grown up, when it all goes t1ts up, or just horribly wrong, my brain's first suggestion is still 'Sod it let's get drunk', then you laugh, remember you have 4 kids, and need to do the school run in 20 minutes, and haven't thought what to do about their tea, and only know where one shin pad is for football kits...
ps - maybe avoid the ex if he can upset you that much.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!

Paid a cheque into my bank account today. Nice to do that rather than take money out!
Went to Aldi on the way home and bought some YS items only. Made a chilli with the mince to use up peppers and chillies I had in the fridge.
Himself has gone out so I've managed to dispose of some rubbish which he would have made me keep had he been here. It's all beyond salvaging and can't be recycled but he'd have wanted to keep it anyway. Since I've started to go through cupboards even I am amazed at the amount of stuff that we have which we don't need.
However, I forgot to take the bag for the charity shop with me when I went out. Might do that tomorrow as Himself has a doctor's appointment anyway,
So, off to decide what I'll have for dinner since Himself won't be in for a while yet.Have adventures. laugh a lot and always be kind.0 -
Hugs to those in need of them.
Sorry for not posting. Not having much to report.
NSD - 16/20. Being mindful on spending.
Still using things up in the flat, no waste.
Trying to sort out 2 minor repairs for the flat.
Still attending the grief programme. Last session is next week. They are adding an extra session onto it as a general get together and share food. It is the day before I go on holiday so will not be going as I have booked myself into a hotel near the airport as early check in the next morning. Got my holiday spending money sorted out. Should hopefully be getting the plane tickets and other paperwork for the holiday the next couple of days - being posted out. It is an organised package holiday.
There will be another session for the grief programme in 5 weeks time to see how people are getting on after attending the programme.
Am going on the retreat on grief on Friday until Sunday.
Trying to go out for a walk each day, but it depends on how I am feeling.Frugal Living Challenge 2025 Mortgage free as of 1st August 20130 -
Today I am grateful for the my budding apple trees, for my hastily planted goosegogs starting to produce leaves, for dh getting a pile of gubbins ready for a tip run, for taking 2 bags to the Sally Army and for having 2 more ready for tomorrow, for finding a slicing guillotine at works that actually cuts the paper instead of mangling it, for more sorting with dd, for finishing a good book and for having more to read, for mse and the depth and breadth of people and information that is so freely available.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0

Fmess - your Head sounds pretty good, but I am so sorry to hear about the circumstances that O were sent packing. What a week!
I got home today to a letter from my solicitor. Yes, I am divorced, but as my ex has pretty much disappeared off the face of the universe I am having to take him to court to get a financial settlement done. I think I will lose out in the short term, but it'll be worth it longer term. Anyway, the court date has arrived, along with a 20+ page financial form that I have to fill in. I am relieved, stressed and terrified in equal measure, and I have spent the entire evening looking up paperwork, printing off bank statements and trying to fill the form in. I will still need a lengthy and costly appointment with my solicitor. Gawd I wish my ex had signed the forms when he said he would.
I feel like I've had zero relaxation time at all this week, and was busy all weekend so I'm feeling quite tired. Determined to put myself first for the rest of the week and relax a bit.Not giving up
Working hard to pay off my debt
Time to take back control

Shrewbie well done huge will power there! I’m sure cheese is low down on the list of possible vices
Ccl how annoying about your ex but at least he’s not coming round your house anymore?
My head was great about the whole situation. He is a great leader in many respects but there’s definitely some things I would do differently as head. Today is another busy day and I’m up at 5 to mark. I’ve got so behind over the last two weeks and need to get it all done now. Have a great day all.LBM = 07/09/13 Debt = £13339 (100% cleared)

Thank you so much for the support!
CCL hope you get to relax very soon.
Power cut in the apartment this morning. I was up at 5am but sure my housemates didn't even notice. Lights off in the street etc. so I read an actual paper book by phone/candle light for an hour and a half. Forced myself to have a cold shower. Definitely appreciated electricity when it came back on.
By my accounts so far I bet you guys think I live in a cockroach infested shanty town! :rotfl:

CCL: sorry about the tress, but good that you have a court date and the end is in sight. Final push
.
Shrewbie: well done on reaching for the cheese not the booze! Also for triumphing over the cockroaches.
Not much to report here, budget ticking along. I am at the stage where I have to buy new clothes - got some initial bits yesterday which I'm pleased with, another shopping trip planned for the end of the month. Feeling guilty about spending, despite the fact that he money has been budgeted.
Oh and the cat has had to have another round of tests - again, in the budget and I can claim a chunk back on the insurance.
Enjoy the rest if the week everyone0 -
Grocery shop coming this morning, we only had £65 left in our grocery budget (new budget starts Tuesday) and I managed to get everything I needed for that. Have a wash in the machine which I am hoping to dry on the line if the sun comes out again. Heating was off most of the day yesterday and I haven't turned it on today which makes me happy.
ccl - I hate having to form fill and collate paperwork at home, don't mind in a work situation but not at home.Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler
