Evening all

Working most of today, restocked sales unit and listed stuff on ebay. Sold an item too
Other than that:
Still no news on tests - no news is good news as far as I am concerned.
Cleaned up kitchen
Made a batch of blackberry and apple pie filling to use up unpleasantly woolly apples in fruit bowl, and the last blackberries from the freezer.
RM surveys stuff, and a couple of online surveys done for Ipsos I say
Checked banks and updated spreadsheet
Ordered a case of wine (used a voucher to reduce cost, also got free delivery) in case of shortage / price rises at the end of the month. Won't drink it all at once :rotfl: - I can rarely manage more than one small glass these days, but it is nice to have, cheaper to buy in bulk and handy for when impromptu presents are needed.
Made a veggie curry for dinner, really fancied one, and ideal opportunity to use up various bendy veg in fridge / oddments in freezer. And there is enough for lunch tomorrow - bonus

Morning frugal pals:hello:
Up early, knew I would be have something playing on my mind. Plans for today:
Triage fridge, make a veg curry - thanks for the idea Dawn and a pudding of some sort. See what else is left.
Quick load of washing and hand on airer
House doesn't need much cleaning so will be doing the minimum
Smalls to prepaid lessons
One small to party. Card and pressie from stash.
Small to do homework
Still haven't made that cake, today may be the day :rotfl:
Close February food spend book. Am very pleased with amount. Focus does wonders in this area
am hoping for a similar March.
Double check money moves yesterday. Look into an couple of new accounts that may be beneficial in us opening.
Have a good day all. Purps.0 -
Morning all

Up early, had breakfast, emptied dishwasher, fed dog and then stopped
Must get on in a minute!
Today's plans:
Bit of cleaning / tidying Done
Make a soup with leftover scraps of ham and whatever lurking veg Done
DD will probably appear with kids before too long, so no point in aiming for anything too ambitious! Went for a longish walk with DD and the kids, free exercise, which to be honest, I needed!
Had a bit of rain, but need to check garden pots to see if any want watering Done
Sow some spring onions and salad leaves Sowed rocket and mustard, but discovered I don't have any spring onion seed. Added to shopping list.
Start a new shopping list, but won't go today In progress
Wrapped a small ebay sale
Did an online survey
OH has got a bought pizza out of the freezer for dinner (was a freebie, I don't buy them). Will jazz it up a bit with some mushrooms and cheap chorizo from the market
Done, ok, but reminded me why I don't buy them! Used some of the micro leaves I have grown in the salad accompaniment.
No plans for spending, unless GD asks for a 'magazine' from the corner shop
She wanted to spend her own money today :rotfl: 0 -
Morning :coffee:
March is self care month for me. I'm so tired I need to focus on getting myself back to my best. I have cancelled my tutoring this morning, and an afternoon at football with ds as he wasn't bothered and I definitely wasn't bothered. I'm going to do small jobs I can't ignore intermingled with some crochet, reading and visiting bestie. I really hope I can manage self care with a reduced income - I'm not high maintenance but the extra cash from tutoring is always useful. We shall see.
So I have already washed dishes, sorted cats and hoovered. I've texted my sister and bestie and am catching up on here. I need to get washing started and have some exam work that I have to do this weekend, but I can do it in small bits in between my own stuff.
Fingers crossed that all goes according to plan. Not giving up

Time to take back control

Morning all,
I'm feeling a bit under today, have a headache I can't seem to shift and generally feel rubbish so I'm going to follow CCL's lead and work on the self care. (I know our food hasn't been great this week and I've not been to the gym etc)
So onto todays list
* Book hairdresser appointment for this week (I keep putting this off but its £20 every 4-5 months usually so not too extravagant) Friday morning
* Book gym sessions for Mon-Fri (works out to be less then 80p a class) Done
* Drink lots more water and less coffee/tea - money saving and less calories Got through to 4pm, without coffee or tea)
* Divvy up the sweets we have left between the two kids for today and tomorrow and show them (means I won't pinch a sneaky one if they know what there is!) Friday morning
* Use up lunch, have invited my parents over, will have leftover chicken, new potatoes, I've got peas and my dad said he'll bring some carrots, I've got some yorkie puds and stuffing balls in the bottom of the freezer too done
* Check the fruit bowl as some of its been hanging around all week - may do stewed fruit done
* Watch another film with the kids (they can have some of the sweets)
I think thats it for now. Take care all.Sticking with the "Small things" thread to keep up us on the straight and narrow.

Managed to live off my weekend shop all week and barely had any spending in the week. But then went for a monster shop today. Only got stuff on list though, and gas for my new guzzeler, think this will last 2 weeks though. Hung laundry out to dry, will batch cook chili later for the week, walked dog with friend for my weekend social. Can't wait for my debt to be under £24.ooo later this month, even if it still seems like a bit of a monster.Isa help to buy: 1000/3000 33%

Evening Frugalistas,
Decent day on the frugal front:
*Grocery shopping came in on budget, even with an unplanned bottle of wine.
*Remembered to use triple nectar point voucher.
*Redeemed £5 loyalty voucher to reduce cost of Body Shop handcream.
*Pack of yellow stickers herrings now decapitated, gutted & frozen. My nails are looking so much better after upping my intake of oily fish, nuts & avocadoes - a nice bonus.
*Tidied receipts, budget cash & various other bits n bobs away to my desk ready for my regular Monday morning budget update & banking session.
*Found a book on my wishlist in Oxfam. £12.99 cover price, I paid £1.99 & it is in perfect condition.
*Resisted a top & a dress in White Stuff & a skirt in Monsoon.
*All free leisure tonight - box set... maybe a film & reading.
*Knit more of current sock (for presents box).
*Update dfw diary.
Cheers all,

OH is no worse than yesterday, which is to say he is better than Tuesday. He has spent the day resting and sleeping broken up by food breaks.
This afternoon I took dd and my 2 neices to a free family activity session, the also had a snack and drink. Meet up with friends and their children.
Today's DFW achievements, well the ones I can remember:
PAD
NSD
stick to the meal plan
Food and drink from home
Made bread
Discussed with everyone, that when we write the weeks meal plan tomorrow, we include the meals that we have missed over the last few weeks, due either to hospital admissions or nobody being particularly hungry and people just wanting something lighter & those that use things we already have in, hopefully making some space in the fridge and freezer.Fashion on a ration 2025 0/66 coupons spent
79.5 coupons rolled over 4/75.5 coupons spent - using for secondhand purchases
One income, home educating family0 -
Glad to hear the patient is no worse, BB. Good idea to recycle your previous week's meal ideas & shop from home.
Morning everyone else,
The only plans for today involve popping out to village garden centre for whatever compost is on offer & a couple of other budgeted for items.
I intend to do a few garden jobs, tidying up the strawberries & clearing a raised bed in the veggie garden. Might finish weeding herb bed too, if weather stays dry.
Enjoy your Sundays, all.
