Morning all :hello:
We've used some items in fridge, overnight oats and yogurts for breakfast. Plus some seeds from use up box. Have some meatballs I defrosted on Friday that we haven't eaten yet for tea. Will make a pudding out of some pears that are getting ripe. Other things:
Get packed lunch ready for tomorrow
Make veggie curry I didn't get chance to yesterday, we went out for dinnner but used 2 vouchers and a discount so was barginous in the big scheme of things :T
Vacuum through
Read a magazine I was gifted
Am going to try some knitting again tonight for relaxation (well it will be relaxing if I can crack it and not have to frog it :rotfl:)
Have a good day folks. Purps.0 -
Morning all
BB - glad that your DH is back home
Big hugs to all
Sorry for being AWOL. I think I was fighting something off over the weekend. Felt very grumpy and out of sorts, combined with a splitting headache. I never get headaches so it was def something.
We did the big shop and meal prep; waxed the cheese (do not want to recount that horror yet); quick potter in the garden (got a pic of a Dunnock with my new monocular); a bit of crochet; and sorted the month start/end for our budget sheet
So of course, because I'm in work, my headache is better!
Today's mission:- B/L/D from stores:
- Porridge with foraged apples from freezer (these are lasting well!) - nom
- L/O olives and feta - nom
- Lentil and bacon soup with hm bread - nom
- Quark with banana chips and nuts - nom
- Chilli and rice - nom. done despite a late one in work
- Charge phone in work - done
- Heating off as OH out today - done
- Keep hands on pennies. We're having quite a few frugal months chez Fanta and I'm starting to get a bit twitchy with it! Still, we have a lot coming up this month to keep me amused
- think I need to plan spends for all the fun things - Have a think about what I can buy my cousin for her 40th. I don't really know her - it's lovely that she's been in touch and invited us to see her but it's hard buying a present for someone you don't know! I'm also not a massive fan of vouchers. - I'm thinking earrings
- Crochet - not today
- No alcohol. - done
- Msg veg box people about new scrubbing brush - done
- Remind OH to send invoice for last week and do accounts

Morning all

Up early to go to a rubbish flea market (where is that roll eyes smilie we used to have?) :rotfl:
But did buy bargainous carrots, parsnips and tomatoes from a market stall
Walked dog, though as it is raining, it was a very short walk before he decided to turn on his heels and race for home :rotfl:
Might go to Mr S to get the rest of the shopping I couldn't get from Iceland delivery Went to Lidl as well
Would have popped into Waitrose for compost a la Mrs F, but it is pouring with rain and the chances of being able to persuade hubby to cart wet compost sacks about are nil :rotfl: (not allowed to lift heavy stuff myself till drs decide what is or is not wrong with me)
Try to persuade OH to part with old bike clogging up the garage, which he hasn't used for about 5 years - a freecycler is asking for one! Yay, it has gone to a grateful new owner and there is now a big space in the garage (and we won't be hitting the car door on it any more )
Loads of lunch type food in the fridge to use up OH had leftover pizza for lunch and I had soup. Used leftover cabbage with dinner.
Cooking roast shoulder of lamb for dinner tonight
Will make a blackberry and apple crumble using the fruit I cooked the other day - I fancy one with oats in the mixture! Done
Still need to update my spending diary and business records, and will need to wash up and clean up kitchen.

Hi everyone, sending encouragement to CCL and 1LL with self care - very important; so easy to put ourselves last. My skin has exploded into a horrible red spotty dry sore mess so have had expense of anti allergy tabs and white petroleum lotion which Dr recommended - not sure why it's happened, maybe stress or an allergic reaction to something (quite possibly allergic to work as main job very unpleasant at moment …
)
Been frugal with food - used stores for Friday and now staying with sis for the weekend so all meals provided - currently waiting for my Sunday dinner, lovely treat :j
Have had expense of petrol for 450 mile round trip. Have updated finance spreadsheet as know what I spent on food and petrol in February. Looking to make savings where I can for this month.
Looking forward to next week's challenge and really enjoying this thread.
Take care everyone
Deni xx

Thanks Deni, yes so easy to put everyone else in front of our own care, trying to sort it though.
PAD is payment a day I believe (paying something off debt or into saving everyday no matter how small I think)Sticking with the "Small things" thread to keep up us on the straight and narrow.

Hello all
Ive been a bit awol...its because ive done nothing but spend!! Had 3 birthdays to buy for this weekend along with a trip to the playarea with madam to meet my friend (we usually do it once a month and have food out but we just didnt the play area £11.90 spent) today i have had to spend £30 fees for dds club and £12.35 in A om the way back to top up now me and oh are esting healthier the fresh stuff is just disappearing and i am constantly buying!!
I am in the house now and going nowhere, i will do a little tidy up and prep dinner as meat is already in the oven and nearly cookee then i shall continue making dds world book day outfit....this is a task in itself as i dont feel overly confident yet with my sewing machine but i will keep trying!!
Tomorrow is when i start getting back to my dfw and stop getting myself down with how much we have spent in the last week, i just worry because i easily find myself spiraling into spending so easily!!
Anyway thats my moan going to go and make a move,oh at work today so just been me and dd i like our girls days
Have a nice sunday afternoon x0 -

Emzmom, Good luck with the book day costume! Our school didn't dress up last year so I'm hoping they don't tell us about it the day before! Although I do have a Diary of the Wimpey kid face mask that I printed one year for ds1 that could be pulled out at last minute!
As ds2 was making Welsh cakes, I got ds1 to reheat some lasagne for us for lunch which we had with peas, swede and garlic bread. Also taught him how to make a Spanish omelette which we are going to have cold with salad tonight. Great for using up bits and pieces from the fridge.
Read with ds2 and checked that both kids bags etc are ready for back to school.
Heating on now (after having to tell ds2 to put a jumper on first!)
