La E, Lovely to see you back on here and congrats on your news
:j:j:j:j
Clf, Glad that your worry has now gone
Lovely posts with happiness today
I wonder how much the nice weather has to do with it?
We are out of routine with it being half term and dh on hols too but makes such a difference seeing blue sky.
Today I have/will.
* been back to the dentists, they've put the crown back and are referring me for extraction. No charge today though.
* dropped ds2 off at his club with his packed lunch, drinks and snacks from stores
* washed a load on the quick wash and hung on the line - I
not having washing all over the radiators!
* parents/sis came for a brunch again then we've been out to the local park to play tennis for free (mum bought us all a drink - then we came home for ice cream instead of paying a fortune whilst we were out)
* all meals from stores, going to have chicken salad again tonight (and leave a portion for my sis who is coming back to watch the kids after work)
* dh and I are going out to see a show tonight, these tickets were part of our xmas gifts to each other (will take snacks from home for the interval)
* check banking/update spreadsheet
* make a packed lunch for ds2s last club day tomorrow
Thats it for now, take care all :j:beer::jSticking with the "Small things" thread to keep up us on the straight and narrow.

'Ey up Campers,
Welcome back La E (& bump!)
Glad you are feeling full of good cheer, Ally.
Busy sort of day - here are the frugal bits:
*Two baths from one lot of hot water.
*Cut tube of moisturiser open as absolutely NOTHING would come out of it this morning. Loads left inside, as usual.
*House clearance date arranged with charity for my parents' furniture - it's going to feel sad - we all moved in there in the early 1970s, but it is what it is & I'm glad a charity can make good use of it.
*Continued clearing & sorting of courtyard. The new winter bed I'm planting up in memory of my Mum is really coming on well now - an almost total replant for the princely sum of £4.
*2 kettles of boiling water down drain to clear blockage, swiftly pursued by a bowl of hot soda crystal solution.
*Another kettle used to blitz a very persistent clump of weeds in the front paving (I avoid using weedkiller).
*Free fitness clearing 2 small beds, & also made a start on my herb bed before my dodgy hand said it had, had enough & that it wanted to go indoors for a cup of tea.
*Laundry done overnight on Economy 7 tariff & all of it dried beautifully outside on the line for free,
*Washer re-loaded & on timer for same again tonight.
*Finish knitting current blanket square - I'm knitting a few as Project #4 of my 2019 Stash KNitting Challenge. I am really hoping that when my physio appointment comes through, I am not told to avoid knitting, though it is certainly not the most painful activity atm.
*Baked the rye sourdough I mixed up yesterday.
*Moved some funds around to facilitate a bill payment.
*Encouraged mr f to apply for a residential training course - it's an accredited one & as work are willing to fund it, it seems silly not to take advantage.
*Checked baby chilli seedlings & watered greenhouse seed trays.
I fancy a nice quiet night on the sofa tonight - 'Shetland', a latte & most probably a cat pestering for the fire to be lit. The days have been glorious, but we have had to scrape the car every morning, so the nights are still dropping cold. I'm not sure I like it quite this unseasonably warm in February to be honest.
Cheers all,

Hello :hello:
LaE - so lovely to see you back! Congratulations on the baby news :j
And Ally, so pleased to hear that you're feeling better and on the up :j I'm quite enjoying the lighter mornings and evenings and finding that they help my mood somewhat.
Not lots to report here - another nsd and another difficult day at work. There is something badly wrong behaviour wise with the kids at the moment, and it's been challenging to say the least. However, I'm home now and I've had dinner (leftover lasagne) and am just settling with a cup of tea and my favourite Tuesday night telly (EastEnders, Holby, Shetland). I'm going to make the most of my time while I have a bit of it to spare - exam contracts for the summer have started arriving. I need to balance out the need for as much money as I can make to pay off the extortionate divorce/court/solicitor stuff with the need to keep myself sane. Wish I was less greedy :rotfl:
HK - so pleased to read the good news about your treatment funding. I'm happy it's all worked out.Not giving up

Thank you everyone for your wishes for OH. First thing this morning I took him to A & E as he had been struggling to breathe overnight, foolish man didn't think it was important enough to wake me  He has been admitted and it is looking like 48+ hours stay. Surprisingly it has been a positive day, as my parents are currently living with us We were able to leave as soon as we dressed, knowing the children would be feed, watered, educated, ferried around, entertained and had emotional support if they needed it. All the staff we encountered were, professional, polite and informative. He has had lots of tests, samples. Treatment was started within an hour of us arriving. Due to being infectious he is in an ensuite private room, which gives him some control even of simple things like the lighting. We have spent the whole day together, just gently enjoying each others company.
I'm now going to read what everyone has been up to today and then I'm going to sleep.

Morning Savers,
Have to go out to a meeting tonight so am aiming to stay focussed on my list to make best use of the day. Frugal bits as follows:
*Last laundry of the week done on overnight tariff. All pegged out in the sunshine to dry for free.
*Stale end of loaf crumbed up for our garden birds today to stretch the seed jar a bit further.
*Batch cook spicy chickpea burgers & freeze the extras for future cheap meal options.
*Slice & freeze a spare pepper.
*Free fitness today will be a brisk walk to the postbox & a thorough sweep of the courtyard.
*More hot soda crystal solution down semi- blocked drain as it seems to be improving.
*Finish knitting 4th blanket square (stash busting)
*Make tomorrow's packed lunch.
*Check transferred funds are in bank account & pay out a cheque if so.
*4 more items packed for charity shop on Fri.
Probably other things too, but I need to prepare for my meeting & eat early before I go out, so I shan't be as productive as normal.

Morning folks
BB - I hope your DH is better soon
Foxgloves - hoping for good news re the knitting.
A bit of a strange day yesterday. I found out that my friend's ex-husband had passed away (he was literally 1 week older than me) and although they have been separated for a couple of years, it did come as a nasty shock to her. Obviously I knew him reasonably well so it made me a bit contemplative. However it did prompt another friend to call me and we had a good long chat. then my niece called me for some healthy eating advice and spent another 30 mins talking to her.
Today's mission:- B/L/D from stores
- Heating off
- Washing on line- done
- Washing done at 30 deg- done
- Meter readings submitted
- Gym at lunchtime (although I don't want to go. Am very sore in the womb area and feel like I have ANOTHER cold coming)
- Reusable menstrual cup
- done - Check payslip and enter values for SL - payroll have stopped my payments now. Just waiting for SL to start taking the DD's!
- Poss some crochet
- No alcohol

BB, I hope you're dh is on the mend now.
HK, glad to hear that your funding is back in place, must be such a relief.
Todays list
* council were due to collect our 3 large items of bulk waste, we put them out when we got home at 11pm last night and the council collected before 9am so I can now get to the back of my garage again! These items were the last hangovers from the rental house
* ds2 off to his last day of sports training with a packed lunch and treats from home
* washing done on the quick 30 degree wash and hung out on the line to dry
* popped to adsa after dropping boyo off and picked up some coffee that dh likes as its cheaper there was planning on calling in for a coffee at a lovely little coffee shop on the way back but when in Mr A I bought some ys muffins so we came back and had those with coffee at home instead
* checked banking and a fewe good things I wasn't expecting, a partial refund from dh's old phone contract of £9 and a few things to do with the rental house (insurance/agents etc) have been cheaper then expected. Also checked number of shares dh had in an old work share scheme to update my spreadsheet properly and its looking ok.
Still need to
** email spreadsheet back to me as a back up
** all meals from stores, need to check the fridge to make sure nothing is going to waste
** update freezer inventory
** decide on something to do for a bit in the sunshine this afternoon before collecting ds2
** watch a film from stash with the kids tonight
** run the dishwasher on the quick wash
I think thats it for me. Take care all.Sticking with the "Small things" thread to keep up us on the straight and narrow.

Heating on for an hour last night then switched off!
