A iPhone is better for security than a laptop
Please explain that comment. The security features which I have installed on my personal computer makes it significantly more secure than the average smartphone. Also my PC has a normal sized keyboard which avoids al the problems associated with keying in the wrong characters due to a phone's usual microscopic virtual keyboard.
My PC also has the advantage over my phone of not unexpectedly receiving an incoming phonecall or text message to disrupt me while I'm in the middle of working on a complicated financial transaction.
Statistically your laptop/desktop is more likely (and hugely so if you use Windows!) to be affected by malware than a smartphone, and an Iphone slightly less likely than an Android device:

I don't have a "statistical" PC. I have PC fitted with a very high level of security. This, together with a proper keyboard and freedom from being interrupted by unexpected incoming calls & texts, makes it significantly more secure than waving around a phone and struggling to carry out complicated financial transactions using a microscopic virtual keyboard..

Probably Marcus have too much money in their savings accounts and don’t want anymore.
Surely with Virgin Money offering 1.00% on up to £25k per account, the current Marcus 0.60% will lead to a massive outflow.
This 1.00% account is only available if you have a Virgin current account, is that right?

Yes. It pays you 2.02% on up to £1,000, too, so is rather desirable. If you are new to Virgin Money and switch an account, it even pays you 5% in the first 12 months on that sum

As this is a forum about Top Easy Access Savings I don't think this is the right place to discuss the pros and cons of technology and security. Feel free to discuss your question here:
I disagree (and would not have asked the question here had you not talked about it in at least two previous posts).

You are claiming your super-secure PC is significantly more secure than a mobile phone. If you could prove that assertion, then it would for me at least guide me towards avoiding Easy Access accounts like Atom that only run on a mobile and instead choose Easy Access accounts that can be run using a super-secure desktop.

If you have one, you will know that already.

And if you don't have one, the information is of no use, as you cannot now open one.
I believe that the soulsaver post was dig at a number of posts clearly deviating from the topic of this thread, hence the bold text.
