Marcus need to up their game or may lose customers as rates rise elsewhere - does anyone think this is likely ?

The 1% on the Virgin linked account on the first £25k is very welcome.

Especially so for anyone with 'a few' of the 2% C/A and consequently a few of these saver accounts.

Might suit anyone who needs to keep multiples of £25k liquid.
Hope people don't get carried away and forget some of their Virgin Money accounts, such as half a dozen Regular Savers, when adding up what they have in Virgin. At the rates they offer, I think it's critically important to stick strictly below £85K

I'm sure Marcus like many others are playing the waiting game. I expect they and lots of others will increase their rates in the coming weeks.

That is the really annoying thing about app only banks such as Atom - No way to access from a regular computer/laptop, which I would prefer over using my mobile.

Virgin Money will pay 25% more than Atom from Tuesday a week, and is available on the older technology

Quite a lot of people have tablets these days (eg ipad) - these run apps like mobiles, but can be used with keyboards like laptops.
  • Probably Marcus have too much money in their savings accounts and don’t want anymore.
