As I'd received a confirmation of the linking the day before I was concerned and couldn't log in and was cut off by their phoneline after holding for around an hour. I also emailed them and am still awaiting a response to that!

It turned out they had a major meltdown and all or most customers received misleading emails. I was less than impressed by this on my first full day as a customer. They did credit my, and I believe every account with £15 compensation.

That was over a year ago has their service be up to scratch. I am a new customer and have found their customer service both on chat and telephone really helpful and they are based in Durham

That related to the base rate increase in December.

The Bank of England raised rates again earlier this month.

For info Shawbrook now released issue 29 of their easy access saver paying 0.72% versus 0.67% for previous issue….for existing customers you don’t need to open a new account you can just secure message them asking to change account to issue 29.

As that experience put me off I haven't had a significant amount in the account but have now put a fair amount in it and will monitor it closely.

Atom Bank I have tested payments in and out and they were instant. Not tested weekend payments yet.  Marcus not instant at weekend took 24 hours this weekend.
The CEO of Atom Bank used to be CEO of first direct before he started Atom

Maybe I have just been fortunate, but any weekend withdrawals I have made with Marcus have always been instant.  I made one on Saturday just past and before I even got as far as closing the app, a text popped up from the linked account bank to confirm the deposit.
