Yes I received the email today too:ashteadgirl said:RCI Flexible Savings Account - rate increase
Freedom Savings Account was automatically increased from 0.55% AER gross variable to 0.70% AER gross variable on the 18th of February 2022.As usual, RCI Bank will increase the rate we offer to our existing Freedom Savings Account customers to match the higher rate we are offering to our new customers. This means the rate on your Freedom Savings Account was automatically increased from 0.55% AER gross variable to 0.70% AER gross variable on the 18th of February 2022.It is good of RCI to raise the rate automatically.
I know it can be a headache with some providers when they bring out a better rate, when you ask they won't let you re-designate your old account to the new issue and instead you have to open a new account with a new account number - which means you then have the hassle of setting up new payee details in the linked account.
Aldermore - also do this and raise the rate for existing customers in line with their latest offer.
Shawbrook - also let you re-designate old account to the new issue when there is a rate increase, secure message them asking to change account to latest issue (thanks tg99).

The good thing about getting Shawbrook customer services to move money to issue 29 is you keep same account number"Look after your pennies and your pounds will look after themselves"0

I picked up an update today to the Android version of the Marcus app. No info given on what the update includes, but one thing I see now that I was not previously aware of is the option to renew the bonus rate. I think that could only be done via online banking before.1

Yup. Just renewed it again (for what it's worth), this time via app.
Previously, had to log into online banking, as you said.0 -
Not bothering updating bonus until they increase it. Experts expect BOE interest rate to go up to 1.25% this year."Look after your pennies and your pounds will look after themselves"0

It was possible to do in the app, it just wasn't the easiest thing to find requiring tapping through a couple of menus to get there.dc_scotland said:I picked up an update today to the Android version of the Marcus app. No info given on what the update includes, but one thing I see now that I was not previously aware of is the option to renew the bonus rate.
