These people should also announce that they return the salary they have got as MPs which are paid by the taxpayers.0

Why? They are still MPs.
They should stand for re-election though, since they aren't in the party they were elected with, but if they are elected again they should continue as is.0 -

They are both the rats and the iceberg.0 -

I don't believe there is any requirement for them to hold a bi election.
You vote for an MP and they say they are going to do things, one of which is what government they will vote for. There is no requirement for them to do any of those things. The DUP MPs effectively changed their vote after being elected (as did the Lib Dem MPs during the coalition years). With JC now offering 2nd ref, I wonder whether the defectors would re-join the party
He's not offering one, he's supporting one. He should put it on a red bus, because it's as meaningless as "let's fund our NHS".0 -
On the ballot we vote for a named MP, but it's disengenous to think that we vote for them in isolation from their party. Up here the voting pattern is usually "1st Labour MP on sheet, 2nd Labour MP on sheet".
An MP leaving their party presumably means they've got some political difference to the party they were in when they were elected, or they wouldn't leave. Sometimes it's something minor but it could be an MP moving from, say, LibDem to UKIP.
The irony here being that one of the "independent" MP's (I've forgotten her name) petitioned for MP's changing parties to trigger a by-election but is now refusing to do so.0 -

We should give them time to form a new party first, that is important.
We could have another general election soon, but if all those MPs stand for election, the cost would be around £5 million.0 -

Well that is up to you to vote for someone because of the party they stand for & it normally works out for you, but nobody seems to have created a rule that you can rely on.An MP leaving their party presumably means they've got some political difference to the party they were in when they were elected, or they wouldn't leave. That is a rather extreme example that I don't believe would be possible, but a LibDem MP did quit in December to become independent.

I don't believe he or the MPs that have resigned recently have drastically changed their position at all and haven't joined another party, but in any case they don't have to call a by-election.
I don't see MPs introducing anything that said they would have to, how would you deal with the Whip being withdrawn? The irony here being that one of the "independent" MP's (I've forgotten her name) petitioned for MP's changing parties to trigger a by-election but is now refusing to do so.
There is no irony, they are politicians and as such can always be expected to be two faced.
Reese Mogg said it would make sense to have two referendums.
Nigel Farage said that a 48/52 split isn't a good enough majority to decide.0
