Unfortunately, the issue is not Luciana Berger but elements of the party who hold these views (no doubt small numbers and in pockets). I fail to see why she should soak it up for the good of the party.

If Labour cannot solve the problem, it lacks the leadership to address the problem.

The Labour party is anti semitic from the Fuhrer downwards.

I have never got my head around the hate towards the Jews from so many people, besides the fact that the ones I have met are a great laugh and they never seem to take them self seriously, for only 10 million left of the planet today they know how to punch well above their weight, they excel at so many things.

Irrespective of your feelings towards Jeremy Corbyn, you may be interested in what the Labour Friends of Israel actually does, and from where it receives its funding. Joan Ryan, the latest defector (and recipient of her own no confidence vote), is its chair.

One may wonder why there is a well funded pressure group (which isn't very keen on revealing the sources of its funding) designed to promote the interests of a foreign country, embedded in the Labour Party.

One speculation is that the Israeli embassy are funding the LFI, well maybe they are. Here's Shai Masot., Israeli embassy staff who has now been ejected from the country, caught on camera discussing which British government ministers they are planning to "take down":

Even the Daily Mail, mentioning an investigation into Israeli interference in the British state, was shocked.

Emily Thornberry, not known for being a crazed anti-semite was quoted:
"“Improper interference in our democratic politics by other states is unacceptable whichever country is involved,” she said.

“This is a national security issue…the Government should launch an immediate inquiry into the extent of this improper interference and demand from the Israeli government that it be brought to an end.”

Joan seems to be rather pally with old Shai. Here he is being caught on another hidden camera offering her one million pounds of Israeli money. Purely out of the goodness of his heart, presumably.

    She seems very pleased indeed.

Wherever racism and antisemitism rears it's head it needs to be tackled, whether in the Labour Party or anywhere else. But this doesn't mean quashing free speech, or denying us our right to know who is interfering in our elected government.

The last thing the UK needs right now is sit on the fence centre politics, we need a conviction political party and leader to make some extreme changes

Thats a ridiculous thing to say. You can be in the centre and have conviction. The success of this country for centuries is because we have rejected extremes of left and right.

Most people (I would like to think) have a centrist view on most issues. That doesn't mean they "sit on the fence". There is a sensible middle ground on most things. By all means criticise individual politicians but suggesting we have to choose either left or right is pretty dangerous.

I think it has more to do with the Empire than our perceived centre-ground politics.

(Is the centre both left & right, or is it neither? Your guess is as good as mine!)

    It is a good thing.

This new group (as not yet official party) is aiming to establish themselves as Remain party.

This should unite Leavers in both Labour and Conservative to proceed with full throttle Brexit.

The message is clear, if you are a Remainer, then quit your party and join this new party.

If only they all had the balls to do that, there would be not much left of the Tories and Labour
