I  left Symbio and switched completed on the 11 October. Since then I have not been able to log into that account. I have been chasing the Administrators for a final bill and today I find I have access online to my account again. However nothing updated since my last bill for October.

The period of time in question is an eight day period in August before my meter was replaced. I gave a reading of 4755 on the 31st of July and 4796 on the 8th of August and they're both on the meter read section of the Symbio Customer Portal. ...
If the meter was replaced, isn't it the responsibility of the engineer who replaced it to submit the final reading from the old meter?
That's what I have been told yet the reading on my bill shows E. That's the dispute.

Does anyone know when Eon are planning to issue a bill?
    https://www.eonnext.com/help/billing-and-payments  states
    Where is my bill?
You can view and download up to two years worth of bills through your online account. If you've recently given us meter readings and are expecting a bill, then it's just to let you know that this can take up to 2 weeks to be generated.
It took them 3 days to apply my DD credit.

e.on next seem very slow to do things even Symbio could manage quicker.  Whenever I entered a meter read with Scottish Power it generated an accurate, detailed Bill in moments.
Not sure this Kraken Technologies platform they use is all it's cracked up to be. ;)

It might be a good idea to submit a reading. I submitted one on 2 December. They applied it as effective 27 November, and now my account shows a debit balance exactly in line with my calculations. The PDF version of the bill is still not available. They may have access to my SMETS1 smart meter, because it has been updated with their tariff.
  • I've received a cheque today for my credit balance from EON next. I moved out of my old house on 29th September.

Did they send it to the old supply address? According to the administrators, they did in my case. Still not in possession of it yet either :(

Yes it was picked up by our redirection.

as as an aside I couldn’t use the nat west app to pay my check in (tried 3 devices about 6 times). Not sure if it’s the lack of a signature that’s the issue - no useful error message.

I suppose I'll give them one reading then.  Then they're on their own!
That's an interesting attitude. My gas supplier can read my smart meter, and billed accordingly in August. Great I thought, I do not need to submit readings. In fact when I visit their web site and attempt to submit one a great big banner comes up saying that I don't need to submit a reading because they already have it because of the smart meter. They bill quarterly, so when the November bill arrived - what have they done? Used an estimate which was 1,238.82kWh below the actual based on my reading, resulting in a bill £38.51 below what it should have been. Meanwhile they increased my monthly DD.

So they're sending cheques to people that are ex-customers because they moved, to the address that they know they definitely don't live at any more?!?
You couldn't make this up, this is extreme incompetence.  Surely an obvious start would be contacting them via their email address or mobile phone number?
Perhaps it's not incompetence but a cash-stealing strategy, and their hope is that a significant number of cheques won't reach the payee so won't get deposited.  If so does Eon get to keep this money that was presumably paid to them by Ofgem?
