Yes I did fill out their form to say we had moved and gave our new address. I had also given it to Symbio but I guess that information was never connected together.wittynamegoeshere said:Mizydoscape said:

Did they send it to the old supply address? According to the administrators, they did in my case. Still not in possession of it yet eitherMizydoscape said:I've received a cheque today for my credit balance from EON next. I moved out of my old house on 29th September.
So they're sending cheques to people that are ex-customers because they moved, to the address that they know they definitely don't live at any more?!?You couldn't make this up, this is extreme incompetence. Surely an obvious start would be contacting them via their email address or mobile phone number?Perhaps it's not incompetence but a cash-stealing strategy, and their hope is that a significant number of cheques won't reach the payee so won't get deposited. If so does Eon get to keep this money that was presumably paid to them by Ofgem?
Interestingly I also can't deposit the cheque via Natwest app so will have to try to get into town to pay it in at some point.0 -
Yes, it's an absolute joke. Luckily I moved just down the road so if the new owners haven't dropped it off by the weekend I'll go around and collect it.wittynamegoeshere said:Mizydoscape said:

Me too but FYI you can pay in a post office just need paying in slip for your account. That was a lot easier and cheaper for me.Mizydoscape said:

I get much better service at the local town Post Office than at my local HSBC branch and that's as a HSBC Premier Account customer. Truly shocking service received there on my last few visits.lisyloo said:

I called around at my old house and no cheque has been delivered there. I knew this wouldn't be straightforward. I guess I'll have to call Eon Next on MondaySwipe said:

EDIT: The cheque has just been pushed through my letterbox. I guess the new owners just came across it.0 -
My final Symbio bill uses an estimated reading vastly higher than my actual reading (which I have photo of). Any thoughts on whether I should just wait for them to contact me to request payment (since no longer any active DD) and provide them correct meter read at that point or do so now? Not sure there is any rush to provide them with it since I owe them money even after adjusting for the final actual (rather than estimated) reading.

If it’s a final bill then that implies they are done, so I would email them with your picture.tg99 said:My final Symbio bill uses an estimated reading vastly higher than my actual reading (which I have photo of). ive had similar.1 -
Better to pay for more units at Symbio rates than Eon's if the inflated estimated opening and closing meter readings match1

I went to PfP from symbio. Mine don’t match (end symbio, start PFP).Swipe said:Better to pay for more units at Symbio rates than Eon's if the inflated estimated opening and closing meter readings match
this was partly because PfP was bust and symbio said they couldn’t get the reading from PfP (I though some 3rd party had this).
agree, better to get it cheaper if they match

Yep but in this case symbio estimated final read is 1000 kWh more than Neon reef estimated opening read. (Eon said I’d never be getting a bill from them as my account never migrated because I switched to Neon Reef …..although technically I was with them for about 10 days or so.)Swipe said:Better to pay for more units at Symbio rates than Eon's if the inflated estimated opening and closing meter readings match
So doesn’t seem as Symbio have done any validation process to make sure estimated final reading is reasonable and ties in with opening read of new supplier. Is there any requirement for them to do this or can the administrators just pick a number?!!0
