Got my final bill from Symbio. They have used an estimated reading rather than actual one (as have not provided). If Eon use an estimate as well do both parties have to make sure they agree this final reading or can Symbio use a higher estimate than Eon?

They should use the same reading.

Got my final bill and it is still wrong. They are still assuming that I have used half a years worth of energy over eight days.

Email fired off to the administrators.

Thanks yes that’s my understanding too but don’t want to pay my Symbio bill until have got confirmation from Eon what opening read they have used incase different. Presumably Eon must have the same reading already on my account now as it would have needed to have been agreed with Symbio as part of the transfer process.

have you not checked your EoN account on line to see what reading they are using.

Like others I have submitted a reading to EON.Next. I submitted on 2 December and they assigned it to 28 November. Today I received a DD advance notice from EON.Next, which was as expected but included that my account had a negative balance. Logged on and found that a charge had been applied to the account. This corresponds exactly to the amount expected for the units used between opening reading for 3 October, and reading just submitted, with the number of days from 2 October to 27 November, calculated at the DD payment tariff. All very good. The downloadable bill hasn't appeared yet, but I'm sure it will. Looks like the transfer is complete.

No as not had any correspondence from Eon since the initial email a few weeks ago hence no online account etc. I did switch away from them though so maybe that’s why. Am going to call them.

If they're overcharging at Symbio's rates your best option would be to pay and keep quiet.  You'll never be able to buy power at these prices again, if they're letting you bank a load of it then just go along with it.
I was hoping they'd make this kind of error with mine, but sadly they took an accurate smart meter reading on the changeover day.
Except for the fact that I haven't used 90% of the units being charged for. It would have been cheaper to have signed up for the most expensive fixed tariff with one of the big six! I resent paying for energy I have not used and I resent being the one paying for the Christmas party!

I guess it's a matter of principle; is your sense of propriety stronger than the £50* you'll save by keeping quiet?
    * A guess, I don't know what Symbio's rates were or how many kWh are in dispute; but 1000kWh at a 5p/kWh saving would be £50.

No, looks like it's £200 worth of electricity, saving well over £100 if my own change of tariff is anything to go by.  Even better!

I've been charged for half a year's worth of energy in an eight day period, adding around £200 to the final bill. Emailed the administrators with the photo of the meter reading I originally submitted and kept on record. No response as of yet.
