My switch is going remarkably smoothly and quickly.

From an initial sign-up on Sunday, by Wednesday the outgoing supplier (Utility Point) had acknowledged and accepted the transfer. Today (Friday) I received an email from Symbio to say the switch is complete with a supply start date of 26th; also detailing how the initial billing will work. I have successfully set up my new account on the portal.

There's an app due soon as well - I'm a sucker for an app :D

Even stranger after every meter read they send the details through to a third party to validate the read. Me thinks they do not trust us!
I think that was something Iresa used to do in the early days.

Not the answer to the question though ;) They do not appear on the list.
Switching my daughter anyway, even without the 2% still the cheapest. Will look again when I come up for renewal next month.
And my message from Santander today
Good afternoon Mr Molerat, Thank you for your email.
I have also checked our website and I can confirm that Symbio Energy is not on our list of suppliers eligible for cashback.
As your supplier is not on the list, we can certainly request that they are added.
We will require the following information: the Originator Identification Number (OIN) this will be available from the company, the name of the company and which service they provide you with.
Once we receive this information we can forward it to our administration department, who review the suppliers, that currently earn cashback.
Find answers to common questions, along with guides and other useful information on our website santander.co.uk >Support. If you cannot find the answer to your questions, our contact details can be found at Talk to us .
    Kind regards,
    Brenda.
    Santander Customer Services
So they are not yet giving cashback on Symbio payments.

Was going to go for the v3, but the v4 is definitely cheaper for me and most people (you would have to use 15MWh over the year.

Just checked my daughter's as she has signed up for V3, switch date of 30th - 2 week switch period, and V4 is £1.98 cheaper on 7000 kWh. Not worth stopping the switch for that.
  • Yesterday I checked my first bill and they have used the Plus VAT unit cost and standing charges AND then added VAT !
Email sent so we will see that they say when they get back to me.

The price difference isn't much, 1p/day reduction in standing charge but an increase of 0.024p per kwh so agree not worth stopping, so maximum saving of £3.65 on standing charge, less whatever electric you use.

I was thinking more that the v4 is cheaper for most than v3 which is cheaper than v1 (don't see v2 in offering) which is encouraging as you'd expect prices to gradually increase. I have one month left of my current fix and was thinking best not to wait as I may pay more, but I suppose that depends if Septembers prices are more than Augusts..

I will just pipe up here to balance out the other comments that seem to think these are great.

I got a final bill from them and it showed meter readings from 6 June till another date in June.

They were going to take final payment out the bank.

I wrote back saying every bil has a 0 and I want a proper bill. Guess what? They never took the payment. Can you see where I am coming from now?

Move your supply away from these. I don't do sugar coating and that is what is happening .

Sounds to me they will be as happy as you are that you have left.
