Symbio Energy feedback

Ha, maybe. I'm a high user so price matters to me. My only complaint is that they've got about £200 of my money in addition to the advance payment but even if they go bust I should get that back. I hope ...niktheguru said:
you know you're gonna stay and fix for another year :-pshinytop said:Nah, I'm just curious to see what they're up to. I've only got a couple of months left on Symbio then I'll be switching (hopefully

Just received the "Congratulations! The switch over to Symbio Energy is complete! Your savings begin now. The effective date of supply is 18 June 2021" email.
Do i still need to give Neon Reef my meter read due tomorrow ( 12th ), or will they be ok with the opening reading i give Symbio on 18th, if that makes any sense?

RegardsYup, I've just received the same email and start date. You shouldn't give ANY reading to Neon Reef, only to Symbio on the 18th. It will then be validated (or tweaked) by The Mysterious Third Party and your reading or whatever figure they pluck out of thin air will be sent to NR.If you've given a different figure to NR that could seriously mess things up, so don't even think about it, just let Symbio do the driving. The important thing is to make sure both companies use the same figure, then you won't be paying twice for any energy.1 -
When I gave my opening reading to Symbio a few months ago, I have to say it was processed with great efficiency and reached my former supplier within a few days.0

A quick question for a neighbour looking to switch from Neon Reef after 14 months on their cheap Aqua One tariff. Some of Symbio's quotes show a tariff end date of 31 May 2021, for example Low Fair and Green 13M Fixed SE02 v21, but these tariffs still seem to be available for new applications. If she were to apply, what is the likelyhood of Symio putting her onto a different tariff with higher rates?I see an earlier post where someone applied two days after the expiry date and still went onto the (expired) tariff, but as we're now 12 days past the expiry, I wonder what they are likely to do.

If it's still on the website, it looks like their intention is to honour it, at least to the end of this month. I note that my tariff end date is now 30th June 2022 after starting on 17th June 2021.dave_dph said:A quick question for a neighbour looking to switch from Neon Reef after 14 months on their cheap Aqua One tariff. Some of Symbio's quotes show a tariff end date of 31 May 2021, for example Low Fair and Green 13M Fixed SE02 v21, but these tariffs still seem to be available for new applications. They'll probably honour it, but the honest answer is no one will know until the end of next week once the first switches have gone through.dave_dph said:A quick question for a neighbour looking to switch from Neon Reef after 14 months on their cheap Aqua One tariff. Some of Symbio's quotes show a tariff end date of 31 May 2021, for example Low Fair and Green 13M Fixed SE02 v21, but these tariffs still seem to be available for new applications. If they dont honour it then it'll probably go down the argument route of
FOR: They gave paperwork with the rates on it and an end date of next year and at no point during the switching process did they pick up on it or notify that the rate was incorrect. Similarly, the rate is still on the website despite new rates ALSO being updated.
AGAINST: The paperwork clearly states the tariff is available only until 31st May 2021.
I suspect they will be appreciative of the cashflow from their unique advanced billing estimations so will let it slide.1 -

Someone's got to foot the bill for the endless compensation claims Symbio appear beset with.
Almost entirely of their own making though,it must be said.0 -
Indeed, if they were better organised they would save themselves a hell of a lot of money.rp1974 said:niktheguru said:

That's been the case ever since the days of "free units". I miss them!niktheguru said:
