Wow, all the hours you must have put in to bring them to book makes me think £60 probably isn't enough! Their rates are very good but the total price you pay (cash + hassle & grief) meant I decided to steer clear. People have enough on their plates these days without the extra hassle these jokers cause. I bet for every customer like you who pursues matters, there will probably be many more that lets them get away with it.

Well done for seeing it through.
I agree £60 isn't enough but having gone through an almost identical process with them I doubt I've spent more than an hour in total actually actively doing something. Most of the time is just waiting for the next step in the process to become active.

You are so right. Actually, I find forum-ing took/takes up far more of my time than communicating with Symbio or Ombudsman - but it gets rather addictive. It bothers me to see so many poor souls suffering genuine distress (ref. Trustpilot reviews) and I feel Symbio are just sticking two fingers up to our system in a quasi-criminal manner for as long as they are allowed by regulators to get away with it.

That's why I disagree with those posters who seem to defend Symbio on the basis that they themselves happen to be clever enough, and to have enough time, to stay one step ahead of Symbio - at least for a while. Once lured by Symbio's loss-leading tariffs the true cost to many ordinary folk is serious prolonged misery from which there is no easy escape.

Today, Symbio sent me £0.90 compensation instead of £90.00 :*

According to multiple recent TP reviews paying 1p on the pound seems to have become normal practice for Symbio. Perhaps they think people won't notice.

They paid my £90 the day after the 90p so not sure whether it was a system error or human error but they seem to have corrected it. Haven't noticed anyone saying the same on TrustPilot though so maybe I've been lucky.

I need to read the email again. Talk about waffle. I thought I'd already signed up to seasonal variance DD in Jan when I renewed but they just carried on taking the same amount each month. I'm moving house at the end of summer so maybe it's in my interest to agree to the new billing to get my balance down a bit before I leave.

Thanks for spotting the error. We all make them, I suppose. 🙄

"maybe I've been lucky" - or maybe they read this and know who you are?  :o

Symbio have just paid my compensation awarded by the Ombudsman. 1% followed by 100%. So I am 1% up.

I have rejected the new billing system as I prefer paying the correct amount for each months usage, if I have read the email correctly you would be paying up to an extra 20% per month and if you decide to change to another company you then have to try and get your money back from them.
