Well we've made the application and the tariff has been confirmed by email. Time will tell!Their new fixed tariffs work out at least £292 per year more.0

Similar situation here. Just received confirmation of switch and account details to enable online access.molerat said:All e-mails I have received state my 13 mth starts on 17 Jun and ends on 30 Jun 22 but on line account states ends 31 Jul 22.I know they can be a pain but the cheapest non Symbio fix is +£109 and for my daughter it is +£231
I suspect their system is calculating 12 or 13 months from date of switch and just extending it to the end of that month. To be fair, i dont mind about that!0 -
After ombudsman finding against symbio for failing to produce final bill within 6 weeks of leaving them, and failing to pay the automatic compensation, its now nearly three weeks after symbio told ombudsman they had completed the resolutions mandated by ombudsman, however the money is still not in my bank account. They really are a complete shower.

I basically have 2 options: pay them more than I owe them via their web portal and hope I get it back in a timely manner, or risk them blocking a switch.

Or you can do what I did, do the switch, then when they block it calculate the actual balance based on TODAYS reading, make sure you've uploaded todays reading with a picture of the meter and then call them, explaining what your use is, what that makes the overall balance and infact you are in credit, so can they please unblock the switch and proceed. After speaking with someone who was clued up and insisting they unblock it (I explained I did not want to overpay and then wait weeks for it to be refunded, when my account is in credit) they unblocked it and my switch went through as planned.DragonQ said:bubieyehyeh said:After ombudsman finding against symbio for failing to produce final bill within 6 weeks of leaving them, and failing to pay the automatic compensation, its now nearly three weeks after symbio told ombudsman they had completed the resolutions mandated by ombudsman, however the money is still not in my bank account. Your post assumes they answer the phone. Often they do not. Also, last time I spoke to them they said they cannot take payments over the phone. The payment amount via their web portal is not changeable. So either I pay the amount they want based on my previous bill's estimate (which is too much) or pay nothing.

They always used to for me, but fair enough I understand now they’re not so brilliant at answering the phone. They can take bank transfer payments.DragonQ said:niktheguru said:

"Your post assumes [a)] they answer the phone"; b) the person answering speaks English; c) they know what they are talking about; d) you know what you are talking about; e) you have the presence, vocabulary, manner, etc. to get your message across; f) they want to help you; g) they are able and permitted to help you; h) what they commit to over the phone actually happens subsequently; i) you have plenty of time (and patience) on your hands. I could go on (if I had the time).
I'd rather be a disappointed optimist than a self-satisfied pessimist0
