I wonder what percentage of their smart meter rollout obligation they’ve met. I’m guessing <2%.

im guessing in about 1 month trustpilot will go on fire with 1* reviews of “overcharging, stealing etc”

No panic for me either having fixed an unbeatable rate for the next 13 months, which I intend to enjoy while it lasts.
So where does the opinion lie presently then?,with Clive Dunn:Dont Panic!,or John Laurie:We're Doomed!.
With the current influx of new customers, that's a bigger pool of people to take their interest free cashflow loan from. So I see them being around for some time yet. All previous predictions of their imminent demise were wrong!
And all the existing customers who are unable to fix will switch way while Symbio holds on to their credit for months before refunding it.

Are existing customers unable to fix if they were to sign up as a new customer would, or are they merely unable to take out another very cheap variable rate tariff, from what I have read those who have been on very cheap variable rate tariffs dont seem to have much( if any) appetite for a fixed rate tariff with exit fees with Symbio.

Doubtless, that's the default view typical of "Disgusted of Tunbridge Wells" types though, really.
PS,you appear to have forgotten "Duped","Hoodwinked",and my own favourite "Misled".

I'm not sure but I've always has 10p rate fixed tariffs with Symbio which were a very similar rate to their variable at the time. Seemed like a no brainer for me. I had no worries about an early exit fee as I had no intention of switching away when no one else came anywhere close to 10p.

Looks like all their current deals are around the 15p to 16p mark with a 26p standing charge, which isn't very competitive (considering the associated potential agro)
I get the agro point for sure, but 15-16p is about right in the current market for a 'low' priced tariff...
Re the people who signed up for expired tariffs in the last few days it will indeed be interesting to see if they honour those, or just point to the date and duck...

I switched to Symbio on 3 June, recived several confirmatory emails and my bank is showing that a Symbio DD has been set up, so it's looking good for a switch to their 13-month Fixed SE03 v21 tariff (12.977p/kWh, Daily charge 10.00p inc VAT) on 18 June. Nothing heard from Neon Reef.

Gerry, the fun of symbio is you just never know what they're going to do next. I too switched an account on the same day and have received all the emails and direct debit emails, and an initiation of switch email today.....the truth will be in the first bill (the online account for symbio is extremely basic and doesn't contain your pdf bills or details of the tariff)

I remember signing up to my tariff which was supposed to be available until Dec 31st, and I made the application on the evening of Jan 2nd. It all went through and I'm still on it now.

They've sent me an email confirming the new cheap fixed tariffs, for the next year. That's contractual, and cause for complaint/ofgem  if they don't honour it.
Suspect it doesn't affect that many as they've not put the renewal link in their latest mail. Just given the impression there is only one tariff available.  I only found out from this forum that you could use an earlier renewal link.
Many are in for a nasty surprise with their next bill. It's a weird (desperate?) tactic as folks will exit pronto,  Symbios customers are used to switching and won't hesitate.

Not many options left to switch to that will be cheaper though, and if they are not quick about it, there may be none at all left in another few weeks...
I wouldn't describe it as 'weird' though, it is the simple reality of wholesale pricing, they will lose money on every customer they allow to renew for 12 months at the old prices, and I suspect their pockets are not deep enough to handle too much of that at this point...
