Symbio Energy feedback

Their only way to get out of promised fixed tariffs is to go bust. As you say, every chance of that.MWT said:Mr_K said:Many are in for a nasty surprise with their next bill. It's a weird (desperate?) tactic as folks will exit pronto, Symbios customers are used to switching and won't hesitate. Not many options left to switch to that will be cheaper though, and if they are not quick about it, there may be none at all left in another few weeks...I wouldn't describe it as 'weird' though, it is the simple reality of wholesale pricing, they will lose money on every customer they allow to renew for 12 months at the old prices, and I suspect their pockets are not deep enough to handle too much of that at this point...

Almost as if Symbio are engineering their own demise, for whatever purpose.
Personally,as they've saved me considerable money in the past two years, with minimal though admittedly not non existent issues, long may they continue.
At worst there's the SOLR provisions and protection for any credit balances anyway, yes the process can be an infurating, long winded PITA but, literally there's nothing to lose.0 -
Interestingly, I got a call from Symbio today, saying something like, "We have some meter installers in your area today, would you like a new Smart Meter?" I declined because I was going out for the day but I asked them to call back. We'll see if they do.niktheguru said:I wonder what percentage of their smart meter rollout obligation they’ve met. I’m guessing <2%.
im guessing in about 1 month trustpilot will go on fire with 1* reviews of “overcharging, stealing etc”0 -
Yes I had one of those. Told them I didn't want one and blocked the number.shinytop said:

Can you imagine if something went wrong with the installation and the hassle you'd have trying to get through to Symbio or even trying to explain the problem to the person on the other end of the phone? You definitely did the right thing. That has disaster waiting to happen written all over it.Mr_K said:

Nah, I'm just curious to see what they're up to. I've only got a couple of months left on Symbio then I'll be switching (hopefullySwipe said:

Email confirmation just received that my switch has been completed. That's by far the quickest confirmation I've ever received.Swipe said:
Odds are, they are too incompetent to notice. Good luck!jrio said:
I hadn't noticed that and it explains why it ends in May next year. They've sent me all the confirmations so I shall wait to see if it does become active on 17th June.carpy said:found the tariff on their site (not on energy club) as it's expired 31/5/21 so i doubt very much they will honour it!!!
however signed up myself for it so will be interesting to see what they do!!!
