    After ombudsman finding against symbio for failing to produce final bill within 6 weeks of leaving them, and failing to pay the automatic compensation, its now nearly three weeks after symbio told ombudsman they had completed the resolutions mandated by ombudsman, however the money is still not in my bank account. They really are a complete shower.
    FWIW - I finally received my statutory £60 just over 5 months from the date of my initial complaint and by following Ofgem/Ombudsman procedure to the letter. Is it really necessary for anyone to go through the courts? The Ombudsman process does, in my experience, work - even though Symbio will string things out as long as they possibly can. So, if you have a claim, just hope that they are still around in several months' time to pay it. As I understand it, once they go broke, all bets on compensation claims are off - and actual overpayment claims etc. may take an age to unravel.

    Did they pay up within the allowed time or did the Ombudsman have to push them for it?

    11th January - Original complaint to Symbio;
    8th March - Escalated to Ombudsman Services after required 8 week period;
    9th March - Symbio given 28 days to comment on the case;
    22nd April - Ombudsman's decision in my favour. Symbio has up to 2 weeks (I think) in which to accept decision or appeal;
    2nd May - Symbio accepts Ombudsman's decision and has up to 30th May to "complete all resolution actions";
    29th May - Symbio messages Ombudsman to say it has "implemented all resolutions required".
    31st May - I contact Ombudsman to say nothing received from Symbio. Ombudsman reply to say they will chase Symbio and give them 14 days to pay up. Progress - I find apology message from Symbio dated 29th May in my Spam box.
    13th June - More progress - £60 appears in my bank account. 😁

    Wow, all the hours you must have put in to bring them to book makes me think £60 probably isn't enough! Their rates are very good but the total price you pay (cash + hassle & grief) meant I decided to steer clear. People have enough on their plates these days without the extra hassle these jokers cause. I bet for every customer like you who pursues matters, there will probably be many more that lets them get away with it.

    Well done for seeing it through.

    "£60 probably isn't enough!" - Couldn't agree more!

    Although, to be honest, 95% of my time spent on this was spread over the year I was with Symbio - monitoring and contesting erroneous bills, cancelling DDs, emailing, forum-ing (is that a word?) etc., and then jumping ship in timely fashion.

    Once I decided they should have a knuckle-wrapping it was just a case of copying relevant emails to Ombudsman Services with a brief explanation (the "evidence") and then waiting, . . . . and waiting.

    I can't see why anyone should need to issue court proceedings when there is a regulatory system in place which seems to work. And which, IMHO, needs and deserves our support.

    And, regarding their rates, perhaps I am a minority but ,despite all the trumpeting, I had no trouble finding a better fixed deal with a company (PFP) which, so far, is doing everything right! 😁

    Is there a way to submit both day/night meter read photos without having to go through the whole process twice and then receiving 2 separate confirmation emails?

    I agree £60 isn't enough but having gone through an almost identical process with them I doubt I've spent more than an hour in total actually actively doing something. Most of the time is just waiting for the next step in the process to become active.

    Just received my full compensation as well. The process is rather slow, but you are right, the system appears to be working.
