I was surprised to see my bill was actually correct. Apparently they are taking payment of the small amount I owe them on Christmas Day!

The bill took more than 6 weeks though so I'll be reminding them of the need to pay compensation soon

You probably already know that they have to pay the £30 compensation within 10 working days of the bill being late, and a further £30 if they don't pay the first £30 within a further 10 working days.

Yep waiting for them to (probably) pass that point before I contact them
  • Just entered meter reads. They forecast 484 units but my actual read was 371.  January 2020 they forecast 900 units but only used about 380.  Interesting to see if they are more accurate this time.

    Symbio estimate; 297
    Actual: 350
That's a first. Expecting a huge over compensation estimate next month now

At least they adjust the following month. Just checked the summary for January and estimate I will use 550 KW.

What i'd like to know is when these guys will start fitting or even supporting smart meters. They dragged their heels with DCC registration until they were threatened to be fined by the regulator. Their website states they are "working hard" to be in a position to provide by the end of 2020......my guess is they will drag their heels as long as possible as their business model will be ruined by being able to register accurate readings directly with a smart meter!

Never hopefully. That's one of the reasons along with their cheap unit price why I decided to renew for another year after they paid their renewalable energy OFCOM bill

My smart meter & IHD has suddenly started working with them, it is a SMETS 2 but hasn't worked since I switched from EON.
    Very surprised it started working!

Well they do insist on their customers submitting monthly readings so not sure how having a smart meter would ruin their business model.
