Just switched to Green, 10.541p/kWh 23p standing charge, happy to pay the extra 2p standing charge and extra 0.8p/kWh for live chat and a website which functions! They owe me a good 350 in overpayments over the year.... wonder how long it will be before I see that!!
I did an online quote and came out cheaper than Symbio. However I would need to pay Symbio an exit fee.
Plus the agro if the switch goes wrong. One of the reasons i stayed with Symbio now they've paid their Ofgem bill

I have now got use to their billing methods. I pay by variable amount each month and their estimate for me in December was only about 100 above what I usually use.
So it's okay for SE to take  a £100 (plus actual monthly usage?) interest-free rolling loan from all their customers? (And still be in the poo-poo?) Perhaps we're on the wrong website. I've bailed, and glad. (So far!)
I'd rather be a disappointed optimist than a self-satisfied pessimist

This is a new one :)
"Thank you for your kind e-mail and the communication therein. We sincerely apologise for the delay in replying to your emails. We have had issues with our mail server, hence the delay in our response."
Ditto... in response to an email sent on 17th March, another 10 days they say for a reply. So nearly a month later!

Aren't Symbio annual quotes only about £400 a year?

Just when I thought electricity couldn't get any cheaper,  along comes Low Fair and Green Variable SE01 v10. Standing charge down to 20p and 10.6p/kWh.
£10.47 a year dearer than Neon Reef for me.  Symbio 12M fix is only 31p dearer than the variable SE01 v10.

Dont recall anyone suggesting that it was OK,no.
Not unexpected as they've repeated form for this,if that's the price to be paid for amongst the lowest overall yearly costs then that's where I'm staying, for now.
What is this poo-poo you speak of?,the resolved Ofgem fisticuffs?.
If you dont mind me asking who did you move to?,for future comparisons, thanks.

Don't forget other suppliers would be boring in comparison!

Thanks for that, Ive just changed to Low Fair and Green 12M Fixed SE01 v9 and saved myself a tenner on my previous quote, same rate as last year but 2p a day less standing charge

Although they certainly do overestimate, they then correct it the following month once they have a reading. Of course, they do then overestimate again, but the amount that they hold doesn't build.
So, on the one hand, they are getting extra money from that overestimation, but it never builds up, in the same way that credit balances do with other suppliers.
Despite the overestimates, I was never more than about £50 in credit with them by the end of the month, as far as I remember.
I was recently about £150 in credit to my gas supplier, although they quickly refunded when I asked.
It is the credit balances that are the rolling loan, and I think, if anything, Symbio do not take as much advantage of it as most other suppliers. That is probably to their detriment.
It is not unusual to see people posting on this forum who are hundreds of pounds in credit, often over a grand, and many of them seem to get in that situation on purpose, as a way to manage their money (rather than just opening another current account).
If Symbio had that kind of money sloshing around, they might not find themselves in situations like the recent one.
