Perfectly reasonable post, and I agree. A small number of people seem to think they own the thread though and get upset if anyone posts anything they consider off topic, even if it isn’t.
Agreed, and moving the post without at the same time posting what's been done on here, with a link to the other thread, is unhelpful to say the least!

There is a post further up saying that it had been moved and where to with a link to the thread. The post is quoted below:

I don't know why my post about the Lidl app was deleted/moved? The thread title of 'good and bad buying' could reasonably be inferred as good and bad buying experiences (verb).

So this message isn't deleted, I'll just add that today I bought the 1kg bag of carrots for 19p offer which I thought was a good buy.
The posts about the app have not been deleted but have been moved to the Lidl app thread here https://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/discussion/6192826/lidl-rewards-app#latest

Indeed there is, posted 4 hours after the original poster noticed that their post had gone missing and found it necessary to comment about that, which rather proves my point!

Precisely. It’s incredibly unhelpful and poor moderation.

I never wait in that queue to get on the Aldi site, if I don't get on straight away, I go elsewhere.
If it's sold out online and I still want it, I will take my chances in the store.
Ordinarily I’d agree. That doesn’t work at the moment though because of the extraordinary demand for garden and BBQ stuff. If the stores have any at all it’s gone within seconds and you’d need to queue for a couple of hours.

Same thing a fortnight ago, and a lot of stores had no stock at all.  Sometimes needs must. I’m up early anyway, so no great hassle, but some people were up half the night!

It is silly - last November I was naive enough to think I'd get a refurbished iPhone, this morning I was looking out for a shed.

Really like the Aldi Specially Selected Kalamata Greek olives @ £1.49 for 350gms.

Used to buy Tesco Finest £2.00 for 210 gms but OH says the Aldi ones are much better.
    And they're cheaper!

Leaving aside for the present the obvious moral arguments around climate change (and allowing some leeway for Covid-enforced outdoor gatherings with elderly relatives), this was one of the reasons for the near 250,000 Aldi online queue yesterday - a 2000 watt Gardenline patio heater for £39.99.

Well reviewed and literally half the price of the same product elsewhere.  Sold out online almost immediately, but available instore on 11 April:

I think the hanging egg chair had something to do with it too:

Aldi website crashes after 87,000 shoppers flock to buy £149 hanging chair

These are a trend that I can see many a chiropractor profiting from in years to come.

Aldi Rheinbacher lager. Used to be good, now replaced with a different design, still with the Rheinbacher label but noticeably inferior.
By strange coincidence, at the same time they have introduced a new lager called San Marcos, which looks and tastes just like the old Rheinbacher, but costs 30p more.
I guess this is how they hide price rises at Aldi.
