I was in Aldi Yarm this morning. Staff being told "fill the shelves with what we've got". So there were dozens of stacks of fresh pizza, but almost no fresh mince or burgers. Assistant said they have "loads" of missing items. I'm particularly partial to their fresh cauliflower cheese, £1.49, but not seen it in store for at least 2 weeks. Fresh food with a sell by date of today and tomorrow carried the 30% off stickers. My usual spend of £45 was £35.45 today.
No semi skimmed milk and very little full fat milk this morning in Newton Aycliffe Aldi...

Just had Newgate Cream of Tomato tinned - seemed excellent to me.   I'd probably need a head-to-head test against Heinz to be able to tell the difference.   (Apart from the price, of course).

I prefer the new Lidl (Newgate) minestrone cuppa soup to the old one, which I thought was too thin.
Not surprised. I once found a tin of Heinz amongst the Lidl ones - pretty clear where they were manufactured!

Some good garden items online at Aldi this morning again.  On sale instore next Sunday.

Queue of around 10,000 people at 0530, half hour's wait to get into the site. Became available at 0800. Sold out not long after. 250,000 people waiting to get on at 8!
There was no preview that I kmow of on what was available in the garden stuff so how did 250,000 people suddenly want to get on the site at 8am?

Maybe they'd picked up a brochure in store? Our local Aldi usually has the following week's available.

It was well trailed in advance to anyone signed up to their emails. The only unknown was the start time.

Possibly getting off-topic but the Aldi hanging egg chair created lots of interest last year and this.
A few pages ago I posted a link to an article that said the site crashed because of the interest in the chair.
You can sign up for emails when it's coming back in stock.
That's how 250,000 people knew to get on the site at 8am.
I don't like the sensation of swingy things but it piqued my interest sufficiently to log on and I was 100,000 in the queue about 7:30am.

I think the chair is probably being bought as much to look at as to sit in. I've seen it feature in a number of publicity photos for various 'celebs'. and 'influencers'.

Aldi do seem to have judged the market right though just like they often do with various other rip off products like make up, perfume and candles.

Has anyone bought the Silvercrest electric Grater from Lidl before?

I have seen them in the past but it's only recently with my hands giving me trouble that I have thought about switching from manual grating to electric and wondered if this one was any good.

I haven't, but I thoroughly recommend the Silvercrest spiraliser. £15 well spent IMO.

So much to read, so little time.
