    Positivity!
It's trying to elude me today.
I think I need to research techniques to get the youngst off of demanding milk every few hours in the night. He is nearly two!!
I am lucky to sleep longer than a two hour stretch without interruption.

I am still struggling in my head to accept that I am going to have to stop working at the moment. I am not able to concentrate long enough on customers work, and my heart is not in it at the moment.
I keep trying to stop taking work on but then I agree as I don't want to turn people away, but I am not enjoying the pressure of trying to combine the two things.
I have to get my head out of the business as I just cannot do both successfully.
Maybe I can pick it up again next year, but for now I think I need to mothball the business. It's with a heavy rather frustrating heart that I am arguing with myself over all of this. But maybe I just have to let it go now.

  • Try watering the milk down, is he waking because he's hungry, or asking for milk because he's awake?

I was going to suggest only offering water. In fact I would be tempted not to offer anything and tough it out by just going in "settling" him without speaking much - similar to what Supernanny used to do. It often only takes a few nights to get them into the routine. He is really old enough to settle himself although I guess the upheaval of the past few months hasn't helped. Does he have a dummy? That might help him settle but I know some people don't like them.

I think you really do already know that you have to take a step back from the business for now at least.
You cannot currently juggle running a business from home & looking after 3 children of different ages. You also have your mum who is needing more of your time.

Time to put up those shutters for now. :)

Ss, I'm sorry that you are having to mothball the business for a while, but it sounds as if it is the right thing to do at the moment. It is one of the few things that you do have some control over.

I think you have to decide a strategy for the little one and stick to it. Whether you want to wean him off the drinks gradually, or just do it all at once is up to you. Whatever you do though, be firm and consistent, otherwise you might as well not start.

How is your tum? And Gd? I hope you are both feeling much better.

Morning, yesterday the routine was slightly out because I had stayed over at my Mums. We had our "Christmas dinner", with crackers and wore the hats with my brother. Although actually we had cottage pie. My brother cooked. So DS was in charge here at home, he got Dgd up. And out the door to school, and the same for his children.
I didn't get up until 8.15 when Dgd text asking where her PE skirt was.
Biggest popped in on her way back from her school run to see if Mum needed anything, and found a house full.
From Mums I went round to biggest to chat as I never get to catch up when I go to babysit as she's going out the door. It was lunchtime before I got home, and then it was a visit from Social. We are to get another worker as he's leaving.
So I didn't even attempt to do any sewing.? I had finished the wedding dress the day before.
Today I am going to have to sew as much as possible.
When those customers who are booked in are finished I will send people on to others.
The evening was babysitting from 4-6. I had mine lot and two of Biggest's.
Luckily it was only a couple of hours. Then we were home.
I was in bed by 9.30. In nice clean sheets. I am pleased to say the little person only woke at 5am so I got 7?hours sleep.

I have yet to put anything on my website but I have posted on my Facebook page that I am fulfilling the orders I have and then stopping work for the time being.
I feel a relief that I have done that, and all new calls today were fielded to another Seamstress.
Mum is happy enough today and finally has her Skype back on.
Another couple of Christmas presents came in today, bought via local people.
I am nearly there I think.

Good news that you have managed to put a hold on further work meantime.

It is quite difficult turning people down, but I suppose that the more I do it, the more easy it will become.
The hardest thing is actually facing the work I have still to do.
I just want to sit down in front of the tv or with my books and chill. Or more accurately, warm up and be cosy.

Dgd was sent home from school again apparently she was sick, so no school today because of the 48 hours rule. I need to get to the bottom of why she's being sick and if it is a bug or self induced?
Some questions etc and a Doctor appointment needed.

    Time to sort out breakfast
