You seem to have inspired me SS - I must ask OH to have a look in the boxroom for the Christmas tree (It's a small pre-decorated one - I add a few ornaments, but stopped having a tree that needed decorating several years ago when I realised I was dreading having to do it as it was exhausting!
I know the tree is in the boxroom because i refused to let him put it in the loft after last Christmas0 -

Good.
We are back from the Cinema, Dgd is planning the next film she wants to watch.
DS is out still with the children, so I am having a cuppa in peace before they return. I savour the moments when I get them as it is rare.
Christmas on the TV. Mum was watching a film when we dropped by with her shopping and I put together her new stool for the kitchen. She didn't want a proper perching stool as it was too Hospital looking so I bought an adjustable bar stool with padded seat and back in cream. Didn't take me long to put it together, she said she was feeling a bit depressed today. I have told her that I am not surprised as it's been a dark old day. I have suggested that when I know DSs shift pattern this week I will arrange to take her out in the car, even if it is only a drive out of town and back again. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -

I am not sure, but it might be an idea for a Christmas present for her. I think I will be getting Biggest one as she is affected like me on top of the baby blues.
She (Biggest) rang to tell me her Dad has been diagnosed with Prostate cancer. Not something that you ever want to hear, especially in the run up to the festive season.
I think his wife is ill as well. Not good.
I have come up to bed and hopefully I will have a decent sleep tonight.
I want to get up in the morning and be motivated to work and move my jobs through efficiently so I can tackle the storage boxes etc and organise my workshop this week ready for some crafting etc.
I might do a workshop for the children before the end of the year. If I can get organised. Get the grandchildren ( the bigger ones, to make some things one afternoon and give the parents a few hours off. ).
Night all, hope we all feel better in the morning. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -

Not the best night last night, baby has had better ones!
Did some sewing but I have lost my mojo today. Only two jobs finished and another started.
Had to pop to Mums at tea time and get her some shopping, luckily her little shop has everything she needed.
Have had enquires about other jobs for fittings tomorrow and Wednesday.
Was seriously thinking about knocking the sewing for others on the head today, but I don't like letting anyone down. Another dressmaker in the town is sending lots of people to me? Wonder if she's not taking in any more work at the moment, as there have been quite a few recently.
Let's hope tomorrow I feel more in the mood. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
Ss, if you are getting more work coming in than you want, can you speak to the other dressmaker and ask her not to send people to you? Or might you end up with too little work that way? It's not difficult!

This is my worry, that I will struggle to rebuild my business when I actually need the money. I still hope that things will change soon and I will have time and energy and the mojo to work. I fear loosing my business and if the situation here changes what would Dgd and I live off of?When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
I need to drop the fear.
I need to assess today, deal with today. I have to stop over thinking about what if.
What if is not on today's agenda.
Today is about dealing with the usual morning routine, school times, and then sewing times.
Today is about prioritising the Must Do, against the want to do.
One must is wash one of the beds because of silt drink. So I have stripped the bed and put the machine on.
Small people woke me at 6.25 ( and 4.30, and 12.10), uniforms are ready to go, breakfast is currently being eaten.
Dgd is still grumpy and complaining she is unwell. So issues there still need addressing. I may have to drive to two different schools so I am going to go and get dressed now, come back for my shower after the time schedule is less finite.
Time to put the heater on in my workshop so I will be more comfortable when I start to see. First customer due at 9am.
Ready steady go!When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0 -
I got going. I did the school runs, talked to teachers, got back in time for my first appointment by the skin of my teeth.
Post had to be signed for. 71 pages of paperwork.
Put it down, didn't let it distract me. Sewed pair of jeans I started last night. Repaired a dress in several places, another collection, 10.30 another two fittings. 11.30 started on wedding dress, 1.30 stopped for lunch.
Read half of said paperwork, so many mistakes. Contacted the author, needs sorting.
2pm another two fittings cane in together.
3pm school run. Finished reading the paper and 4.30 another two customers. 6pm DS went to work so had usual childcare.
Moved washing on somewhere in that lot. Made bed with fresh sheet. Oh and shortened a pair of curtains. ?
Curtains collected at 7. Kids in bed and conference call with said authorities.
Time for a cold beer! ( 0% non alcoholic one!) I rarely drink alcohol any more. Gave it up in May I think, except for a few on holiday with Mum but even then I was drinking the local non alcoholic beers most of the time.
The washing up can wait till tomorrow. I want to put my feet up, watch an old drama on TV and then go to bed.
Tomorrow it's more of the same. When I die I will know that I have lived, loved, mattered and made a difference, even if in a small way.0
