I have started my Christmas shopping, all though on line, it was from local shops Facebook pages.
    Twins sorted.
Some Christmas bits for decorating, cookie cutters, sweetcones, and a Santa tray for putting out Santa's milk and carrots etc.
I need to get my head around Christmas now the Inquisition is over.

My Son also couldn't get on the drive when he got home again because somebody was blocked off the drive while visiting the doctors. They have a car park but they don't seem to even try to use it. So frustrating.

Time for bed. Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day.

  • I believe it's possible to put in a complaint to your local highways dept re the the parking. Also worth speaking to the health centre re illegal parking.

I haven't even thought about Christmas. Myself and another poster on OS used to joke we'd be glittering the cobwebs. Dd needs a new winter coat and I was going to cross stitch some lovely woodland animals including a Wol from one of my Rico books. I've quite a collection of lovely white wooden frames I can use. GC are teenagers now and prefer vouchers. Offsring are scattered around England so vouchers are what we've exchanged in recent years.

Hope dgd is ok and your mum. Wishing you a better day tomorrow.
    Sleep tight.

My retreat was the toilet, I would shut the door, sink down on the floor and just cry. I don't know why but I could get peace in the loo for 5 minutes but not in the bathroom.

I've so far managed to pick up two presents so really need to get my act together but it's been madness here with dad being carted off to hospital several times, me being carted off once and going through the follow up meetings for my niece after she was placed with me on a temp basis back in June (she is back with her parents now but for how long is down to them and how well they listen to advice/make improvements)
We made it! All three boys have graduated, it's been hard work but it shows there is a possibility of a chance of normal (ish) life after a diagnosis (or two) of ASD. It's not been the easiest route but I am so glad I ignored everything and everyone and did my own therapies with them.
Eldests' EDS diagnosis 4.5.10, mine 13.1.11 eekk - now having fun and games as a wheelchair user.

Singlesue, when Dgd was first placed with me I had her for 3 days while her Mum was ill. Returned her, and two days later the social worker DS she wasn't coping, needed an assessment and said it would be three weeks. I have had her ever since. Which is 10 years this next week. What a journey I have been on ever since.
I hope that things settle for you soon.
Mum is on the mend as she sounds stronger on the phone, and is not needing me to go in every day. My brother still rings her twice a day, and I ring her once, see what's needed, make plans accordingly.

When the morning rush is done, I will be writing up my diary, my planner, and then focusing on what's next. I need to regroup. I was going to yesterday but then I got in a conversation with the lady who used to work with me, and we were talking about stepping up the advertising of the makes I have from the shop.
It's time to shift my self.
Here's to a better day for us all.

Have you thought about extending your turnaround time for sewing jobs.

I know some that come in are likely urgent, but for everything else that would take the pressure off a bit, and if the customer agrees you aren't letting anyone down.

Agree or charge a lot extra for urgent turnarounds that's only fair. You're doing great by the way you have so much to deal with.

Ss, I completely agree about lengthening your turnaround times. I remember that some of the train operators changed timetables as they were always running late and the new schedules simply gave them more time. I don't see why you can't do the same!

The inconsiderate/selfish parkers are an utter PITA. Apparently, your LA can/might take action so it is worth getting in touch. Also worth speaking to the surgery Practice Manager, although there is probably not a lot they can do in reality :( OH spoke to someone about their parking the other week as they were blocking the pavement, he pointed out me in my wheelchair and that people like me would be unable to get through. The idiot just shrugged his shoulders and walked away

I'm still coughing and it is affecting my sleep, so it is going to be another quiet day for me!

Hi SS - have still been following your thread and wishing you well.

Re the dropped kerb and parking etc. Although I know how annoying this can be the actual law is that if you are parked on your drive then others should not park across it and block you in, and you can report this to the police. However, if there is no car on the drive then cars can legally park across it. It sounds wrong but unfortunately that's the way it is.

Highways painted a white line across the front of mine and the neighbours either side, which is supposed to mean no parking.
It's frustrating, especially when you have disabled and or children in the car. (Or shopping!)

I was just looking randomly on Facebook and saw a post about Argos recalling stairgates. We have 3 of them. It says to stop using them and to return them immediately. I am surprised that they didn't contact me as I have an Argos account/credit card, so they must have been able to trace them on such purchases.
So tomorrow I will have to visit Argos! I can't carry three at once. This is going to be quiet a hassle.
And now I need three more gates asap
