Today I am grateful for lovely colleagues, for laughter, for really sweet pupils, for only needing 10 mins to scrape the frozen snow off the ouside of the car and the ice off the inside (!) this morning, for dd just handing me a huge sultana (she usually fights me off!), for being offered some free tickets to see a sch production that I was going to pay for, for longer days, for 2 more bags for the ch shop.NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0

Hello :hello:
As suspected, exam season is in full swing and I don't have a spare second in the day to do anything much.
I've lost count of my nsd's, and I have to do my expenses claim sooner rather than later so I can pay off my credit card.
January seems to have lasted for ever and it's ages since I've been paid, so I am particularly looking forward to tomorrow.
Today I'm grateful for:
Good friends
Looking forward to payday
Achieving the halfway point with marking. Not giving up
Working hard to pay off my debt
Time to take back control

A quiet day. Just absorbing all the info from the past few days. We had 2-3" of snow and it's mostly still there - parts of the car park are churned up as the cars leaving have all followed similar routes.
Have not been to see if the bins have been emptied (suspect not). Have not set foot over the door - went to the back door and threw banana skins at the nearest tubs.
Washing processed, pots part done - waiting for the boy who claimed that emptying and putting away is his job. Lots of easy food - cheese spread on crispbread, yoghurt with added oats, apples, fish from the freezer with a handful of chips and a side portion of veg curry, then adopted a seige mentality and had a tin of soup, tin of rice pudding (yum) and a tin of peach slices.
Have done on-line food orders for mum and myself (both coming Friday). I could probably manage for a while but gaps are starting to appear (lots of space in the freezer and fridge now) and some things were needed for meals I intend to cook. I spent more than I had planned to but have gone slightly overboard on the 3 for a tenner bags of frozen fish - some of the ones I like have increased significantly in price (ie less pieces in the bag) and some new ones have been introduced with 6/ 7 portions. Will last more than a month so some of the cost can go on March's budget.
Today I am grateful for a day to recoup my energy, for the websites I used working well and for the joys of tinned food (it has it's place). Also having fun with a 'new to me' series - American lawyer with a 'maverick' streak (borderline insane). It's a bit trashy but easy to follow and has some good guest appearances - Steve Buscemi. My mission in life is not only to survive, but to thrive and to do so with some Passion, some Compassion, some Humour and some Style.NST SEP No 1 No Debt No mortgage0 -
Spend free days (NSD’s) – I'm going to aim for 20 as money is going to be pretty tight this month - now on 17/20.
Make plans for the month – I've got a couple of things planned for this month but will make sure that they are as low budget as possible - went out to the theatre tonight with the girls.
Always pay your debts first – Budget is done for January and debt payment has been made - nothing additional paid.
List your frogs – Made a start on this and will add to the list as I think of more - nothing today.
Little savings – I've added a whole £2.50 to my emergency fund taking it to £9.50 :rotfl:, will continue to add as I can - nothing added.
Chill out – Will aim to read a bit every day. I've also got a few adult colouring books which have been sitting there for ages so will aim to do some colouring in too - spent some time colouring.
Helping others – I've set up a charity donation which will come out at the start of the month. I'll also add items to the food bank whenever I'm in the supermarket - nothing added.
Always be grateful – Will post 3 gratitudes each day. - good chat with OH, a fun night out with the girls, pizza for tea
New to You – Me and OH are planning to do a huge sort though of all our stuff, there's still unopened boxes from when we moved in, who knows what treasures we might find- nothing done.
Get involved – I always struggle with daily posting but will try this month - I'm here
Exercise – I really need to get back into exercising regularly. Now have new running shoes so no excuses! - went to a gym class today plus 45 mins in the gym afterwards and walked home after the theatre.
Sort it out – I don't really have anything in the cupboards lurking that doesn't get used except spices but will aim to use up some of them - nothing used.Mortgage 26.4.25 - £108,500 1.7.25 - £106,653.66

Well done everyone for your efforts in January. Yesterday was not an NSD for me as I had to pick up a couple of items from the shop on the way home for the friends I;m staying with. Today I;m grateful for my job, for having savings and for my short commute soon to become even shorter by next week¡ yay. I also am looking forward to chucking away loads of stuff tonight (hopefully)Student loan £5655

Happy Thursday (again!)
Seems like groundhog day sometimes around here.
Lunchboxes made, coffee inhaled, bank accounts checked and pay has gone it :j
No snow here yet either. Icy though. Soup on the menu for tonight (tomato and red pepper) with garlic bread. Going to roast up a tray of veg and do a curry as well after the school run. That way there is easy food quickly available and I have realised the smallest of the smalls are starting to swerve some of their vegetables. There will be a minimum of 5 a day going into their faces. If I prep in advance there is no excuse!
Only 3 different pick up times after school today. Hopefully will be home before snowmageddon starts.4/10/22One Year Mortgage Free Yay!
