Spend free days (NSD’s)
I don't usually have a problem, but I'm buying the Sun every day for the caravan holiday tokens, so every day has *some* spend for quite a while.
Karma - could you not have 'special dispensation' for the sun tokens, if that is the only thing that you buy that day?NST March lion #8; NSD ; MFW9/3/23 Whoop Whoop!!!0 -
Thanks for that, apple
I suppose it comes under planned expenditure, its true
I'm not heavily counting NSDs as its just not something thats a problem for me. I *am* counting all expenditure except direct debits, though - all cash, all credit card amounts, and thats going to be interesting.

Evening all :hello:
Feeling much better today after an evening of relaxation and tv last night, but I am still incredibly tired.
We are already one third of the way through January. How is it all going for you? Progress on the thread seems amazing so far, and all of these little changes are adding up to a really big difference.
I personally am pleased that I have the beginnings of a small savings pot, that I am making my way slowly through my frog list, and that I am making use of things in the cupboards that have been there for months or even years. It hasn't felt like a lot of effort but it's really making a lot of an impact on my finances and my mood.
Today I am grateful for:
Using up a pot of porridge that was lurking in the cupboard
Having a warm blanket to snuggle under when it's cold like tonight
Still having a couple of quid in my purse by Thursday night :rotfl:Not giving up
Working hard to pay off my debt
Time to take back control

Spend free days (NSDs) – I’m aiming for 16. Currently on 7/16.
Make plans for the month – I had a meal planned for Saturday and then that is my last planned ‘going out’ spend until the last week of Jan.
Always pay your debts first – No current debt. Trying to build up my emergency fund.
List your frogs – Made the list. I am adding frogs faster than I can cross them off.
Little savings – I am taking my own lunch and am avoiding buying coffee this month. For each day that I don’t spend, I’m transferring the money to my savings.
Chill out – I have started a new Crochet Along (CAL) and am also trying to meditate daily again. Meditated 3 days so far so this needs work. Crochet going well.
Helping others – I add extra items to my shop specifically as donations for our local food bank.
Always be grateful – I write in my journal. Doing this daily.
New to You - I am recycling old yarn for the CAL I’m doing, instead of buying new yarn. I’m determined to resist buying, even though the yarn pack looks so pretty! (It’s the CAL from attic 24, if anyone’s interested / also doing it).
Get involved – I will try and post more. Hello :j
Exercise – I signed up for RED January (for Mind). So far, I have managed a walk each day. Yesterday’s was only 10mins though so I’m going to try and make up for that in the week. Still walking daily.
Sort it out – working on this one. I am a classic 'might need it someday' person so this one is tough for me.Save 12k in 2022 #26

NSD 5/10
Frogs 14/31 (some pretty big ones to do this weekend including finishing the kitchen cupboard audit and meal planning, and cleaning the oven  )
Tonight I am grateful for
Spending time out with friends last night (planned in budgets)
Quick and easy tea of soup and toasties
Getting a refund from a closed credit card balance (one of my frogs was phoning them up yesterday)
Its Friday tomorrow... woohoo! Happy weekend peeps :j0 -
Spend free days (NSD’s) – I'm going to aim for 20 as money is going to be pretty tight this month - nothing spent today so 7/20.
Make plans for the month – I've got a couple of things planned for this month but will make sure that they are as low budget as possible - next is a day out on Saturday, away to Stirling for a run. Will go for a pub lunch after run.
Always pay your debts first – Budget is done for January and debt payment has been made - nothing added today.
List your frogs – Made a start on this and will add to the list as I think of more - nothing done today.
Little savings – I've added a whole £2.50 to my emergency fund taking it to £9.50 :rotfl:, will continue to add as I can - nothing added today.
Chill out – Will aim to read a bit every day. I've also got a few adult colouring books which have been sitting there for ages so will aim to do some colouring in too - nothing today.
Helping others – I've set up a charity donation which will come out at the start of the month. I'll also add items to the food bank whenever I'm in the supermarket - nothing today.
Always be grateful – Will post 3 gratitudes each day. - feeling better, a lovely run this morning, good shift at work
New to You – Me and OH are planning to do a huge sort though of all our stuff, there's still unopened boxes from when we moved in, who knows what treasures we might find- nothing done today.
Get involved – I always struggle with daily posting but will try this month - I'm here
Exercise – I really need to get back into exercising regularly. Now have new running shoes so no excuses! - Short run this morning to try out new trainers.
Sort it out – I don't really have anything in the cupboards lurking that doesn't get used except spices but will aim to use up some of them - nothing used.Mortgage 26.4.25 - £108,500 1.8.25 - £106,362.86
