Hi - I hope you don't mind if I join in with you? I am very late to start for 2019, I know, but I really need to declutter drastically and need some motivation otherwise it all seems too much. I have so much stuff in my flat and I just don't know where to start with it so I'm just going to dig in.
I think I have 151 days left this year and would like to declutter an average of one item a day.
I bit the bullet today and put a few things on our local selling/giving page and one has gone already.
I've also put aside some things for a tombola/raffle in September and sorted out some things for the charity shop, but I won't count them until they've left the premises.

    1575 - 1589 general recycling
1590 - one barrow load of plaster
1591 - 1596 coat hangers to bin ( it pains me to do this but CSS won’t take them any more.
    1597 - 1615 - general recycling

Mainly planning the new kitchen today, after the sad discovery of no original fuse left behind the 4 inch thick plaster on the walls, Lots of time spent on Pinterest trying to get an idea what to do, I’ve got 3/4s sussed, just one section is doing my head in. At least I have time. :rotfl: builder coming next week, he has a six month waiting list hence getting in now. Also plumber coming as we are going to take out the old Rayburn and pop in a more efficient boiler. That will happen sooner rather t Han later. I spent the morning painting five window frames as they are being replaced soon too. It’s all go here.

Oh boy feel like I'm AWOL again, but am into the mega busy period of work AND lil son has moved out.......but not quite ALL his stuff!

So I had boxed up 40 of his glassware and mugs and evicted his bathroom things - around 9 things and 4 large towels. He's taken those today and some more items out of his old bedroom, but I'm not going to count his room possessions for now.

Then I took pics of some of ex's electrical things to see if they could be recycled at a wholesalers.....apparently not :( Sooo taking around 40 switch things out of mains boards to the dump tomorrow - annoys me I have to do it and not him, but haven't heard from him since Feb so guessing he doesn't give a rats butt about his stuff!!

So counting 93 things, could well be more but haven't got time to count all the switches (it's a BAG full!) 807/2019

Edit: ooo and seeing as I'm going to the tip, am recycling some old metal door handles too and a chain bolt. Ohhhhh AND 4 wwoden frames from an old window whoop whoop! 816/2019

Welcome! Hahahahaha don't waste time reading the thread.....use the time to ctach up your declutter number ;);):rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:
Seriously though this challenge is really good, it means different things to different people depending on the scale of declutter they face ;)

But there are tons of tips in amongst it all - one of mine is get a minimalist/declutter fiend round to your place and let them loose, mine is coming round in two weeks again for the two cluttered spare rooms I have now :D

Hi all, busy weekend here. DH and I started yesterday with building a step that had needed doing since last year when the builders moved our French windows. It is made out of bricks and slabs recycled from a monster fireplace that was in my hose when we moved in. So this step has been recycled twice now. Very pleased. :T:A:T By the way, cement mixing is till hard work now matter how much practice you have had :D

After that I was on the till at the CS (no buys) and an engagement party. On the return home I went back in the shed to pull out more boxes into the house. It is nearly empty now and will be going soon. I also have a lot of metal. I am hoping to register with the scrap yard this week so i can take it all.

Today I have been back to the CS to work on the till and sort. Versatile I am. Bought some books but they will go back.

Seeing as I managed to go to the CS twice this weekend I have managed to take four bags of books plus some other items and a small table.

Just about to list a sofa chair and a set of shelves on Freecycle/gummytree. The place will be a lot clearer when they are gone.

Need a lie down now :rotfl:
