I have been reorganising my savings.  Just using £400 for plumbing- new shower and a replacement outside pipe (two separate items that am getting fixed together).  Currently I have one month of bills ready to pay them.  I have a second month ready to replenish those. I did have more in this account but have added £1000 from there to my Barclays Blue Rewards due to the interest rate. Every penny helps pay off the mortgage...... Then I have what I consider actually savings.  I have just over £6000 sat in savings excluding the month of bills.  However of the £6000 some is self care (things like hair cuts), some is presents (birthdays and Christmas- I have several family birthdays around Christmas) and some is shorter term spends such as my new shower.
Paid off the last of my unsecured debts in 2016. Then saved up and bought a property. Current aim is to pay off my mortgage as early as possible. Currently over paying every month. Mortgage due to be paid off in 2036 hoping to get it paid off much earlier. Set up my own bespoke spreadsheet to manage my money.

Not sure if you want me to amend your total to £6000 or if you want to update on how much it is after birthday, Christmas etc - feel free to let us know - your total is currently sitting at £4500/£5700

    Keep up the good work
