Surely the issue isn't that she can't see the big yellow boxes but that she can't see (or pays no attention to) the road signs with the numbers inside a red circle. And, given that she has already been on a speed awareness course, I have little sympathy if she does get banned, frankly.
Driving is a privilege, not a right. If it takes a ban to get this message home, that is unfortunate for you, but hardly unexpected.0 -
Plus if she gets a ban her insurance in the future will go thru the roof.0

How about having some sympathy for her poor husband who currently has 26 years of driving with not so much as a blemish on his licence?
What did he do to deserve this?

he uttered the longest sentence..... "I do" :eek:0 -
Your wife losing her license for a while is an inconvenience.
A catastrophe is what'll happen when she eventually causes a serious accident.
Some people just can't or won't drive.0 -

To be fair, she's already come close - six points last year for driving without due care and attention. The motorcyclist was lucky to escape with a broken ankle (As a cyclist I understand how often cars pull out at junctions without looking properly but it's no excuse). I've never been knocked off my bike yet, but I've had to take evasive action on many occasions.0 -
If she hasnt learned after getting 6 points for hitting a motorcyclist then she's not likely to learn at all unless a few weeks of busses does the job.0

Well isn't she just the gift which keeps on giving? :T0 -
Yes, getting my son to school and my wife to work by bus would be impossible. If she hasnt learned after getting 6 points for hitting a motorcyclist then she's not likely to learn at all unless a few weeks of busses does the job.
I would encourage cycling but I fear it will fall on deaf ears.0
