  • Hello,

#39 reporting £90 for October. I'm no where near my savings target but pleased to have reported a positive number as one of my pots is my stocks and shares ISA which like most plummeted last week and I was worried it was the start of the expected crash. Its slowly improving so its something to cheer about :)

    Hi
Apologies to SF - I've just dome 3 months of late updates via the form, with number 34 on - when I'm actually number 33!

We've had a good few months - an unexpected PPI refund being the highlight :j Both kids are off at Uni now, so the household bills have come down and we're being quite frugal.

Could I update my target to £40K please SF

    Keep saving!

I do so hate it when I have to raid the current month's savings pot to top up our current month's spending. It's a good job I had not made my normal overpayment of all the total above a certain amount into the mortgage account or it would have been gone. As it is, I have raided £250 to keep us going until next weekend.

In mitigation DH's occupational pension is paid a week after his former pay day, and we have got a motorcycle VED DD coming out the day before he gets "paid" so anticipated payments have slightly distorted things this month. My total will be low for October but I shall put my form in today in the hope that I will use the contents of my purse from now on.

This month's figures aren't yet in, but it looks like I'm on track to reach and exceed my original goal!

So on that high, I've set a new goal. And if the month ends as I hope it will, then with 83.3% of the year gone I'm at 82.2% of the new goal. Can I stretch there??

(I also submitted figures for the last three months, I'd forgot, oops!)

Good luck everyone, we're well into the last quarter of the year now. We can do it!

#77 checking back in after a few hectic months!!
I’m logging savings of £488.68 and £738.68 for September and October respectively.

It’s been a tough few months for a variety of reasons however I am now getting back on the savings and should finish the year well.
    12K in 2019 Challenge #77 = £779.35 / £6,000 = 12.9%
  • £1000 for me in October. I seem to have had an expensive couple of months; not major spends but lots of £200-£300 things spent on the house, dentistry, car etc.

I might be able to save more in the build up to Christmas as I've bought all my presents and have a virtual Christmas pot for socialising and extras. :)
