    Spreadsheet updated :)

I don't know if I'll make my savings target for the year now, but shall keep plodding!

  • not the best savings month with £592.92 put away, but could’ve been worse as the uninsured boiler needed fixing.

October is my expensive month with lots of annual costs being paid out, plus lots of social events and activities coming up which will be fun for me but make the savings account a bit lonely!

  • Reporting £1813.75 for September - a bit lower than my monthly average but we had a few one-off expenses to pay like the annual car insurance bill and the balance of our holiday accommodation in the Canaries next month. Not a Thomas Cook as we travel independently but annoyingly I had booked Thomas Cook for the flight home so that's had to be rebooked with another company. Will now be googling 'how to claim for Thomas Cook flight if you pay by credit card'!

    Happy saving everyone

I know already that September's figure will be lower because I have been away on holiday and the majority of the cost will be reflected in this month's statement. However it was a lovely holiday and worth every penny!

    Happy saving all. :money:

    Reporting -£412.70 for September.

As expected, this month's figure was significantly lower than normal. It was a fantastic holiday indeed, and as I said before it was worth every penny! Very much expect October to be right back on track with an average figure around the £750ish mark.

#112 reporting in for September, managed to save £1,141. I was expecting quite a tight month but I've managed to re-arrange some bills, so it now looks like November and January will be the tight ones (both less than £100). Still ahead of target, which is good.

#157 reporting a healthy £1024.20 for September and update form completed.

I do expect the following couple of months to be hefty negative figures. This is due partly to the fact that I am off to Tenerife with my better half for 2 weeks mid-way through October and all my spending money will come out of savings. But also because I was caught up in the Thomas Cook collapse. Our flights only were with Thomas Cook. I did think I would be okay, as I paid by credit card but now thinking that money (£500) might be down the pan, as it was booked through a third party agent, Opodo.

I did manage to book alternative flights, but they cost us a hefty 50% more than originally.:(
