hi all no. 15 reporting a measly £407 for October, bringing my yearly total to £9,289.12 to date. I did go away for almost half the month so in one sense it's not too bad a result but it still makes it a stretch to reach my target for the year.0

As expected, this month's figure was significantly lower than normal. It was a fantastic holiday indeed, and as I said before it was worth every penny! Very much expect October to be right back on track with an average figure around the £750ish mark.

Some great numbers being reported here, well done guys!
I'm reporting September savings of £1,875.48 (no mortgage overpayments though), and October savings of £170.00 (and £6.47 mortgage overpayment). September as expected, October not quite so much as we spent a lot while on holiday! My projection to "pay myself back" for the holiday now extends into January, so I won't finish this year as strongly as I wanted to nor meet my target, but never mind - just looking forward to next year's challenge already!
Two more paydays until Christmas - eek!0 -
Hi All,
I'm a bit late updating here but here goes:
August: A very expensive month with a foreign holiday so a big minus
September: Back on track with savings
October: Back on track with savings
August -1,000.00 (approx but it was about that amount)
September 750.00
October 750.00
All in all I'm still up for the year but well short of my £12k target. Plus it's nice to have had a couple of holidays this year without the financial hangover afterwards that I have experienced in previous years.
Well done everyone with their savings and best of luck in future saving.
It's soon time to think about Christmas so more expense.:eek:0 -
#6 reporting in with £5,228.10 for September, making £66,894.15 for the year so far. Settled into a nice rhythm now, and looks like £75k for the year should be in reach.
Starting to make plans for work on the house next year, so 2020 unlikely to be at the same level as 2019, but this year has really started to move the needle on FIRE plans.0 -
£917.91 for October, which is a nice, big number! Pretty pleased with that, all things considered.
I am absolutely not going to hit my target, but that's mainly due to changing plans, so I'll live with it.Start mortgage date: August 2022; Start mortgage amount: £240,999; Original mortgage free date: August 2056
Current mortgage amount: £226,957.97

I managed to save £562 in October, sadly it would have been just under £200 more but I’m on the wrong tax code in my new job which I sorted out this afternoon!! Hoping I get that money back very soon!
This brings me to £5513 of my £6k target, and with the extra money due and two months left of the year, it looks likely that I’ll hit my target. So pleased as it’s more than what I saved last year. I’ll have to up next year’s target I think!0 -
Another £250 this month. A fab but expensive holiday (all paid not cc like I used to) and OH needing support on the bills again.
Still, so much better as I am heading in the right direction, albeit slowly!
Eek re Christmouse. I found out yesterday we are hosting. I need to keep myself under control. I’ll start my food list today. Please remind me it’s just a big Sunday lunch!0
