  • I’ve added my number to my signature.

My main tip is that I’ve got a sweep set up on my bank account. This will auto transfer any amount over what I need to live on each month to my savings. I’ve set this up to be done just after me and my partner have both been paid. That way the money isn’t there to tempt you and you’re forced to live on the amount in your account.

I've decided to do tilly tidy every day instead of once a week. The savings are really starting to build now. I hope I can keep this up. Day three and I've saved over £70 so far. It's a bit scary!

  • Could you put me down for £12,000, please? I did this challenge in 2016 but in 2017 became too relaxed and frivolous so I need this challenge to keep me accountable :-)
  • Ok so regular standing payments:
    £200 into H2B ISA
    £300 into regular saver account

Money from my change pot counted out, just need to pay it in. Also managed to get about £10 for some books sold only - pretty good especially as they were only gathering dust.

Can't 'Tidy' my account atm as all my bills seem to be very round numbers - is it wrong this has annoyed me :rotfl:

My target is gunna be hard going but if I can get close then I should be looking at about £25 and a house deposit by the end of the year!

You see, that is the addictive nature of Tilly Tidying! - and what I did was round down to the next £50 when that started happening - it just meant less in the grocery budget...
    Save £12k in 2025 #2 I am at £4863.32 out of £6000 after May (81.05%)
OS Grocery Challenge in 2025 I am at £1286.68/£3000 or 42.89% of my annual spend so far

  • I'd like to join. Like others, long-time lurker, first time properly getting involved, always thought this was a great initiative each year.

Please put me down for £12,000.

£10,800 (£900 / month) of this is taken by Standing Orders to various Regular Savers / Other Savings accounts as soon as I'm paid.
The real challenge is finding the extra £1,200 and any more if possible! I'm already very careful with spending, so some real challenges to be faced. A nice-to-have though so looking forward to it!

    Thanks slowlyfading for running! :D
