Gosh fab overypayments people! My tax refund has just come from the tax office so I looked at that and then rounded my mortgage down which seems to be a nice approach :-)

Oh and realised I could put it on a credit card, so I'll gain interest in my current account for a bit longer!

    Overpayment of £1771.29

    Feb total: £2771.29
    2019 target: £2771.29/£12000

Mortgage balance should now be £37K

I'm now trying to decide how much to put in savings vs mortgage. How do other people decide? Obviously when I pay off my mortgage that money is 'gone' as in I can't get it in an emergency!

No. 7 here checking in with an overpayment of £155 for Feb. Don't think we'll manage any more overpayments this month, but at least we're on target so far :)

  • Number 160 here.
Just tried to do an OP of £65.90, but I have used all my OP limit this year.
Probably don't put in a table yet, will see how it goes. May be they will call me, who knows?
Looking forward to April when I can overpay again.
    P.S. Can I have a smaller number too? :)

#106 here. £78 paid into the mortgage account today to shave the outstanding balance to a more or less round number - now ends in a xxx250.00.

I have also worked out that at this rate for both MFW and savings that I should be able to achieve mortgage neutrality in about 29 months and in time for my 45th birthday. Appreciate a lot can happen in life between now and then but it seems a good current target to aim for. Thanks,

    February total: £1,588
    2019 total: £3,088 / £15,000

No. 150 checking in with February's over payments.
£2050 this month, and unlikely to have any more this month.
  • Tidy up of accounts led to an extra £18.13 so that’s a total of £235.13 for Feby.
Mortgage so far: £31,630.01Aiming to be mortgage free by 2024

    # 51 checking in with another little overpayment of £9.96 to bring my Feb total to £43.61. (A small refund from my Gas company + a £2 coin from my change at the supermarket ! :p )

Feel a little silly reporting such tiny amounts compared to some on here :o but I keep clinging to the fact I'm mortgage neutral already (and prioritising pension / savings instead of mortgage) and an OP of £9.96 is getting rid of just over 0.1% of my mortgage balance outstanding! Even the teeny amounts add up for me now. :j
    Mortgage free as of 12/08/20!
