i will be joining as soon as i get my keys. so motivating to see the excel.
amazing to see some people have managed to pay £20k +.. are there no over payment charges?

It was one of the reasons I went with my provider, there was no limit to over payments at all.

Same here - mine (First Direct) allows unlimited overpayments, which is one of the main reasons I selected it.

The only caveat is you will incur an early redemption charge if you fully repay the mortgage within a fixed-rate period, but there's nothing stopping you getting very close to fully repaid, which is what i'm doing - my 2-year fixed ends in June, by which point it'll be overpaid down to about £100 remaining, and i'll pay it off in full on the first day it drops back to the SVR. It started at nearly £78k in June 2018, i'll have OP'd £66k, made regular payments of a bit under £13k, and been charged about £800 in interest :)

In May it should be down to around £1k, and will formally still have 12 years to run. As a MFW nerd, I'm curious about what the renewal offer will look like :D

Thank you all for your updates! :heart2:

Looking at the figures, I'm wondering whether we can hit a million by the end of the year? It would be quite a push, but an amazing goal nonetheless!

Hello, no.7 checking in. For November I made and overpayment of £148 and for December I made an overpayment of £151. That brings my total for the year to £1676 so I've made my target and overplayed 1% of my mortgage this year :)

Thanks Julicorn for running the thread!
