    Order a new phone for £1.00+£10 from http://www. mobiles.co.uk/pay-as-you-go-mobile-phones.html
It will be unlocked and will work with any of the above sims.
I am only saying contract as i thought would be cheaper than top up every few days
It is not always the case, but see sim-only contracts at chitter-chatter and talkmobile.
  • Hi there,

I have an i phone 4 on vodafone at the moment. It will be at the end of the contract period on 31st december.

I have been fairly disillusioned with the quality of reception. I think this is partly because of vodafone not being as good as i thought they would be in the area i live but also because the quality of reception of the i phone 4 is fairly aub standard from what ive experienced wherever ive taken it.

I have gone back to uni so am looking at ways to save money. I am set on going back to o2 as they never let me down in the past. Will sell the iphone and get a new phone. Was thinking sim only or pay as you go and was wondering what you guys would suggest as a solid performing android/blackberry phone at a decent price. Main concern is quality of reception. Then id like to be able to use facebook, check emails etc with ease. Seen the HTC wildfire for £130. Any other suggestions?

    Thanks a lot
  • whats the best deal on the iphone 3 on pay as u go(ive already got a sim)
  • Not sure if this is the correct thread to post this in but here goes...

I'm looking into getting the HTC Sensation XE (any advice on how decent the phone is would be appreciated!) and have found a few deals but have never used cashback promotions/quidco but am interested in purchasing a new contract this way (Orange are giving me terrible offers)

    24 month contract
£22.88/month (£25.54 before 5 months half price line rental)
    600 minutes
    500 texts
    500MB
    Free handset

Does this seem like a good deal? Also could this be bought through quidco for £30 cashback?

HTC Sensation XE, XL or Samsung Galaxy SII

Personally, I prefer Topcashback to Quidco.

The airtime costs about £10 (chitter-chatter). Assuming that you claim the redemption cashback successfully (do your research, it may be not that simple), you pay £15.54*24=£373 for the handset. As it is available for £430 on PAYG, your deal is not bad, but I think you can do better if you pay some amount upfront.
Also could this be bought through quidco for £30 cashback?
If you can navigate to this deal directly from the home page of the website, then you can do the same by going through quidco. However, this is not the case for some deals that you can find on comparison websites like, say, moneysupermarket.

Looking at getting a Sensation XE tomorrow! (Payday)
Pretty much decided that's the phone I'd like, going for a fairly basic tariff - Dialaphone, O2, 200 mins, unltd txt, 500mb data. - £21.50 / month
The only thing that concerns me is the bank for my mortgage payment insists that the due date each month is the day before payday, and keeps telling me I'm behind on payments every time I make a payment, I've asked to move the payment date, but they said to do this I then need to make 2 payments on one month.
I'm wondering if this would go against me for the credit check on the phone contract :(

What? That you are permanently one month behind?
If you want to know you have to check your credit report(s) and see how this is reported to the CRA(s). IMHO, making one extra mortgage payment to sort this out is a higher priority than buying a new toy.

  • Vodafone offered SWMBO a Galaxy SII with 300 minutes, unlimited texts and 500mb on a 24 month contract, She has agreed to it (phone comes today) although I expect she will have 30 days in which she can cancel it. She previously had a sim only deal with Vodafone and is very happy with the company so didn't want to change, The offer came about when she asked for a pac number. Does this seems a reasonable offer?
    Cheers

I think you are overoptimistic. It's 7 working days in fact. However, DSR don't apply to upgrades and I don't know if Vodafone's internal policy is different.

Are you serious? How is it possible to say without knowing the monthly cost?
