    Hi folks !

Could anybody please advise on the current best deal for a new iPhone, which my son want s to buy for himself.

We use Quidco and Topcashback, so if there are deals using either of these sites, please mention them.

    Many thanks !

    "Reasonable" depends on your budget.

The cheapest is probably Samsung Galaxy Apollo (refurb) for £29.9+£10 at Mobiles.co.uk.
Samsung Galaxy Europe (refurb) is £39+£10 from e2save.
Galaxy Mini is 24x£7.50 with reasonable allowances and £60 quidco cashback at Tesco Mobile.
Sony Ericsson Xperia Mini Pro White is 24x£10
HTC Explorer is £100 at Play.com
SE Xperia X8 is £99 at Prepaymania.
Orange San Francisco is about £90 and is easy to unlock.
OSF2 and T-Mobile Vivacity are about £100, but more difficult to unlock.
Acer Liquid Metal was about £135 recently at Exansis, but discontinued there.

IMHO, OSF2 / Vivacity and Acer LM are the best value for money.

    Hi Grumbler..

Thank you much. You have covered many aspects of my query but when you say " The cheapest is probably Samsung Galaxy Apollo (refurb) for £29.9+£10 at Mobiles.co.uk.
Samsung Galaxy Europe (refurb) is £39+£10 from e2save.....

...what do you mean by £10 ? is that the top up i will have to do every month ? will these phones be unlocked or will i have to have them unlocked ?? this price seems reasonable to me or my budget is about £49-£69, not more i am afraid...i know i am asking for the world for nothing. :(
    Please advise...
    thank you so much again.

£10 is one-off topup when buying a PAYG phone. If you don't need it, you can convert £10 credit into £6 via getpoundsback.

All phones from mobiles.co.uk/e2save/osps/cpw are normally unlocked unless they explicitly state otherwise.

That said, both Apollo and Europa seem to be OOS, but you can place an order:

Hi WLM21, would this be for a contract or to buy the iPhone outright?

Probably on a contract .. as he's paying

.. but if there's a good deal by buying, even the previous iPhone (whatever number it is) and getting a SIM with unlimited data access.

    thanks !

Hi, my son (18 years old) is looking for a good deal when his current O2 one ends in May.

He isnt fussed by what phone, but wants to be able to access the internet and have unlimited/high amount of texts. Minutes are not important to him either really.

I know i can get a better deal by haggling with O2 when his contract is up rather than changing provider - but I need an idea of what is a realistic bargaining deal to start with.

I have searched around a bit but have no real idea of what is a good deal. His one is currently costing £10/month and he has 50 mins, unlimited texts but no internet. Would it be better to stay with o2 or is there a better deal around.

    Thanks for any suggestions.

I wouldn't be so sure about this.

Without a new phone for £10 he can get 250m+Unltd+Unltd on giffgaff PAYG that use the same O2 network.
Would it be better to stay with o2 or is there a better deal around.
    IMHO, the latter.

Hi grumbler, thanks for your quick reply.

I possibly didnt make it clear in my post but he does need a new phone - just isnt fussy which one. Are there any good deals around where he could get all he wants plus a new phone for £10 or less?

    Thanks again.

Loads: http://www.omio .com/deals - select the Monthly Cost "Up to £10".

However, often it is better to buy a phone sim-free or PAYG and use it on PAYG or sim-only contract.
