  • Hi Sue-UU

    Glad to hear that you and hubby are keeping warm.
    In reply to your recent question . . . I do indeed live in a castle.
    It has been in the family for years and now it's my turn . . . I absolutely love it.

    I have the main part and there are four apartments that previous generations converted, which are rented out. The rents from these help pay for the upkeep but having said that, every extra pound saved is a bonus . . . which is why I am enjoying this challenge so much.

    Keep well and keep those pots fed, whenever you can. It all adds up and makes it worthwhile.

    How exciting :D
  • Morning,

    I have a few bits to pot tonight when I get home.

    My demi-john is getting fuller now although my terramundi that has my £2 stash in is still rather light.

    Have a great day everyone and keep warm xx

    I've been thinking of all the potting activity over the last few days - I have:
    * 5 p roadkill (hurrah)
    * £14 Facebook sales
    * £2.50 no breakfast club today or yesterday (snow) and £3 no Rainbows tonight (snow!)
    So that's quite a lot to pot!
    Love this challenge, thank you

    Evening Pottersssssssssssss

    A slightly dejected Jakesmum entering the thread, DS rang me this morning to inform me that his holiday form has been turned down by his works, as has his grovelling and explanation it was a big birthday celebration for his 18th, my 40th, DH's 50th and my mother's 65th :( so basically our big birthday holiday will be without him! Slightly annoyed as its been booked for roughly 8 months! I have been hounding him to book the time off with work for 8 months, I have reminded him every - single - day! for 8 months and it was always 'yes mum! *eye roll* it'll be fine!' and now its not. He is a bit gutted but tis his own fault and he's not walking out of a very well paid full time job for 2 weeks holiday, so we'll all have to lump it :(

    On the upside! So much saving from not taking him! we were working it out and before we even take into consideration food etc, we are £600 better off :eek: I never really thought about it before, we are a family of 4 so i've always priced for 4! His flight is non refundable and non transferable but as it could have been so much worse financially, we are taking that as a small price to pay.

    Anyway, potting! I have money to pot, 2 secs I shall empty my purse . . . ok, i have 2 x £2 coins, £1.40 in 20ps and 40p in 10ps! all for the pot :D

    I’ve managed to pot some change over the past few days and am now upto £69.60.

    I’m looking forward to payday on Thursday so I can do my budget for the month. I’m hoping that I can get upto £100 potted by the end of Feb.

    Added £5 to my pot this morning. It's been sitting in my phone case doing nothing so in the pot it went. :D
