Hello all Potters, I hope you're all enjoyingh a good Thursday! :j
To all those who are not well or who are low in spirits, take great care of yourselves. Get well soon and {{{{hugs}}}} from all the SPC family. :grinheartwell my potting efforts are not doing as well as I hoped however I do only use cash and its not the end of the month yet so hoping things well be better by then
people seem to be doing so well I am so pleased for you all at the rate at you are filling those pots
At least you're using cash. Aaleigha, that's a step up. January for s lot of people is a difficult month, so look ahead from next month onward in the hope that things will look up for you. See if you can budget any better to leave yourself a little more cash to pot. Even a few pence per week would be good!Best wishes to you.
I'm inclined to agree with you re the £20 v £10 notes, datlex, and know that was my Mother's way of thinking years ago, except that she hated breaking into any note!!Don't forget to save the cash you're able to hold back on when buying offers! Great potting!!
Salesharky23 wrote: »SPC119 - I can't seem to add a signature yet, could this be because I have only recently joined the forum?
Added £30 birthday money and £2 loose change from my purse to my pot.
There was already a few bits of change in there as I put anything under 50p in there anyway.
Feel like this is a productive start.
It'll be ok, Salesharky, but it's got nothing to do with you being new on MSE.Let's start at the beginning to make sure you've got it all right.
Go to the top of the page and on the top green bar and you'll see User CP, click that and it'll show you a drop down menu on the left, look for Edit Signature and click that, then add your SPC No 119. Afterwards be sure to Save details or whatever it is. Go out from there and go to your post above (or any post you've written)and you should see it on your siggy.
If you can't see it then refresh the by going to the very top right of the page and clicking the 3rd symbol in (along the same line as the address bar, hopefully you will then see it. Any problems, just tell us.
Excellent saving and you're off to a fantastic start!! :j
Brilliant saving Lucy!!! :j All my very best wishes for the appointment on Monday, I do hope all goes well for you. :grinheart
In complete contrast: I'm so terribly sorry to hear about your DD1 and her husband, d'you think there's any chance of them getting back together? I'm hoping her present frame of mind might be due to the shock of it all, I do hope so as it's all so very worrying for all of you, especially for the kiddies and they need security whether she thinks so now or not. Thank goodness they all have you to support them through. Take great care Lucy and all the very best for Monday! :grinheartEnjoy a peaceful evening and a super Friday, folks!! Pot whatever whenever!! :j

Few more coins potted once I got in from work. Will see if have any further change this evening after budgeted night out and pot that. Then takeaway tomorrow again will pot the change. I have £22.60 left in my spends account for week but when you consider: I already have tonight's money in one purse, tomorrow's takeaway in another. I will probably be able to pot some of that. [STRIKE]The £2.60 will be going shortly to mortgage overpayment.[/STRIKE] correction: the £2.60 has gone to mortgage overpaymentPaid off the last of my unsecured debts in 2016. Then saved up and bought a property. Current aim is to pay off my mortgage as early as possible. Currently over paying every month. Mortgage due to be paid off in 2036 hoping to get it paid off much earlier. Set up my own bespoke spreadsheet to manage my money.0

Found £2 in my bag when got in from pub. Has been potted. Now up to £68. Still scary thinking how when that was in my purse previously it was just so easy to spend on tat. Planning a no spend trip to Marks after work tomorrow- One of my bank accounts is with them and they top up £5 each month on a gift card. Need to check the balance but there is at least £15 currently on it, should cover some new socks.Paid off the last of my unsecured debts in 2016. Then saved up and bought a property. Current aim is to pay off my mortgage as early as possible. Currently over paying every month. Mortgage due to be paid off in 2036 hoping to get it paid off much earlier. I took a voucher to Waitrose today which gave me £10 off a £50 spend. I ended up buying extra stockings (the sort that I always buy) so that I reached the total spend necessary - but I now have a lot of stockings in my drawer as well as £10 to pot!
I also used a debit card which will give me another 10% off, so I'll add that on when I receive it.
While I was out I went into Robert Dyas and using a different card I will receive 10% off my purchases there also.
I also found some money in the side pocket of a rucksack, but that will not be counted. I've reduced the amount of money that I thought I'd spend on my last holiday and I've increased my stash of foreign money.

Good savings datlex! It's always marvellous when members save what would otherwise wise have been spent without thinking too much about it. That's one of the great things about SPC, it teaches us to save in many ways!
Not to worry, Robin, especially as you come on every week to tell us of your £10 saved, very well done too!!! :jSalesharky23 wrote: »Thank you for the tip Sue-UU, I obviously wasn't looking properly.

More potted this evening. Now over £70 in it. Not seen the window cleaner recently. Apparently he did nearby streets a couple of weeks ago, so am expecting him in next week or so. But until his pot needs replenishing I shall keep adding to my pot.Paid off the last of my unsecured debts in 2016. Then saved up and bought a property.
