Morning all! Sorry I've been MIA, but I have been potting!

Moved my Save the Change this morning and paid it to my credit card, £7.93 in January. I've updated my signature to keep record of this.

I've got a £2 coin in my purse which I'll pot tonight as well :-)

    Hi Sue, All

Sorry to be a pest, can I join please?

I had some loose change sitting around the flat and in the car for a while and my friends starting commenting. After New year had a bit of a clear out and found a box of mew glass jars with hinged lids from when I'd moved so set aside the largest (est 3L). Already a wee layer on the go. Can't seal the lid as such as need to open it to add. Promise I won't take out until it's either full or on deadline.

    T. x Very well done on using what sounds like a Kiln jar, normally used for jam etc, but will now be a great help to you. I take you at your word with your promise! ;)

    Really great potting, datlex....

.... for you also, Homegrown!! :D

I wondered where you'd got to, MrsShazbat, still, it's good to see you again. I understand about not wanting to spend during January, but you're on your way again now, well done!!

Oooh that's a fantastic find with the £10er, Babs!!!!! :dance:Darned good job it wasn't like yesterday! Well done for giving a £5er to the BHF, very admirable!

We all have our darned expensive months, Deni, and you certainly don't escape!!! ;) Still, you're back potting again now and very well done!!

All busy here working full time with 2 kiddies. First pot is now full so gotta find another today. Worth it kept some of the baby milk containers. I could have saved a bit of money..... coffee jar it is ha ha.

Why not, Hicksy, it all saves your hard-earned cash. I started off with a C!dburys Drinking Chocolate tub all those years ago, then had pots given to me by the family. Quids in! :D Thanks a lot for the PM.

That was lovely of your boss/es to show some appreciation, Raggle! I'm pleased it's built up your pot as a result, brilliant!!! :j

There you are, Lifeisforliving, it doesn't take long to feel your pot and know you're doing pretty darned well!!! ;)

Had a very productive day de-cluttering today. Lots to go to charity and lots to try sell on ebay, that should bring in some extra funds (fingers crossed)
Trying to be more waste conscious, so making sure I only buy what I need when I really need it :D
Got a pile of clothes to darn and patch too, so we get as much use as we can out of everything.
This kept me busy all day so turned into a NSD and found a £1 in one of our recycle bags :rotfl:
So £11 in the pot today :j:j

Excellent potting, weenapoops, it soon builds up!! You too having potting adventures!!
BTW. I've just read your latest post: brilliant work with decluttering and sorting what needs to go to charity and what can be sold!!!

Very well done in darning what needs fixing too, you'll save yourself sooo much!!!!

Never mind, Whatshername, at least you were worth waiting for with your cash!!! :D

So there you are at last, browneyed-girl! You mean being a working Mum stops you from coming on SPC!!!! Only joking honest. You've been doing marvellously since you were last on with some fantastic potting!!! Much to be very proud of!! :D

Well done with your little treasure, Hettyhound, at least you're teaching him the value of taking care of his money, one day he'll thank you! ;)

Nice work with getting your fridge/freezer, Loz! :j They're a Godsend when it comes to batch-cooking. I'll be waiting for the pounds to be rolling in!!! ;)

Not so good at times when they need some money, Iheart, but lovely getting back!!! All the very best with the interview, if it's a job you really want, I really hope you get it!!! :D

A good idea to read through other people's posts, Salesharky, it's great for motivation as you've found out!! I see you've added more to your pot too, great work!! :D

Well done on even more potting, Robin!!

    Well done Llynsey, good saving!!

Recently found out that our workplace is offering travel-to-work loans again, which means I can apply for a cheaper bus pass. Just did the math...I'd be saving £11 a month or £132 over the year once I finish the paperwork- that will be potted!

Another quid and a few silvers into the pot. Mr Copper Coin pot got a very princely 2p :P

That would be a great saving, Dreamworlded, especially over the course of a year, good luck!!! :j

    Brilliant potting, Pmo2!!!

It's lovely to see you again, Thrice! Excellent work in what you've done with your CC, and thanks for updating your siggy!! :D

Hello all Potters , have a lovely evening and Tuesday!! Save well if it's possible.

  • My colleague found 2 x 50p roadkill this morning in between where we park our cars.

That is another 50p added to the pot, it doesn't sound like much but that per day from tomorrow would be £132 added.

Small savings like buying a multipack of crisps or chocolate instead of buying individual ones from a shop could easily save that.

A wee £1.50 liberated from husband's coin tray tonight and deposited snugly in my sealed pot.

I will decide nearer the time what my sealed pot will finance (and it will likely depend on how full it gets / what is needed).

    I'm thinking either:
    1. Holiday spending money (end of june)
    2. Paying a chunk towards new Windows which will becoming later this year (summer, maybe before)
    3. Savings for Christmas (October open, as planned)
    4. Emergency pot (ongoing)
    5. Something else?

Nice to think about these things to keep motivation high :)

    Afternoon Potters

Haven't done a lot of potting this last week as my dear old mother passed away last Thursday afternoon. She was 89 and had lived a full and happy life, even during these last few years battling with dementia she was always smiling and happy in her own little world. It is always sad, of course, but I am also happy for her that she is released from a horrible disease and relieved that I no longer have to worry about her.

I have £1 to pot today. Keep warm Potters and enjoy the rest of your week.:)
