Hi
I am not keeping an exact tally of what I pot, I am looking forward to the surprise on Halloween!
Potted some silver and copper found whilst having a tidy up! Plus the usual laundry haul from my son's jeans
Keep warm everyone!

Please can I join too? I made a sealed tin last week and have just emptied the shopping change into it. Not keeping a tally of what I’m putting in put hoping for maybe £75 by end October to get some Christmas presents. We followed Martin’s advice of no presents except for the children and that saved me a small fortune, although my aunt and cousin (who suggested it) then gave me a small gift each, which I didn’t feel the need to replicate so that was fine.SPC #023 SPC 12: £125.86[/COLOUR]:SPC 13: £214.98: SPC 14: £297.41 SPC 15: £237.27 SPC 16 £335.39; SPC 17 £662.09 SPC 18 £20MFW #21 Mortgage start Dec 2015 £79,950; June 2025 £19,394.00 2025 OP £1589/COLOR]/£2,000 MFiT T6 #3 £19070/£25,500 (72.82%%) MFiT T7 #3 £2050/£21,930 (9.34%)0

Thank you for your response Lucifa73.
I was just wondering does birthday money potted count?
I have already started adding money into my pot but will put that into another one if it doesn't.
Thank you.SPC No 119:j0 -

Hello all Potters, I hope you all had a lovely Wednesday! :j
To all those who are not well or who are low in spirits, take great care of yourselves. Get well soon and {{{{hugs}}}} from all the SPC family. :grinheartDukeOfSomewhere wrote: »Hi Sue-UU
Glad to hear that you and hubby are keeping warm.
In reply to your recent question . . . I do indeed live in a castle.
It has been in the family for years and now it's my turn . . . I absolutely love it.
I have the main part and there are four apartments that previous generations converted, which are rented out. The rents from these help pay for the upkeep but having said that, every extra pound saved is a bonus . . . which is why I am enjoying this challenge so much.
Hi again DukeOfSomewhere.
Oh that sounds wonderful! There was a castle very near hubby's & my hometown of Ringwood, Hants and that was turned into apartments whilst leaving the structure as it was; the locals loved them, whether it's still there or not I honestly don't know.
You keep enjoying yours, this challenge too! We keep our pots fed for sure, having started it off with a drinking chocolate carton I now have one for each denomination as the family have bought most of them for me, can't grumble about that now as I never need to replace them!
Keep saying and enjoy that castle to the full!
There's definitely nothing insignificant about what you're potting, Homegrown!!
Not to worry, Purplemumof2, I've got a feeling my Terramundi should be heavier than it is, still, this has made me more determined to alter that!! At least we're saving well, just not the right coins!
Excellent potting, MushyPeas!! Keep up the great work and I'm so pleased you so enjoy the challenge!!
All good wishes, Maddie, for even more cash to be potted later today!!?
Oh dear, jakes-mum, that must have been such hard news to swallow, but I'm pleased you've taken it on the chin so to speak and seen the better side of it all, though you wouldn't believe it would make such a difference money wise!!! No doubt Jake will find great ways of celebrating his 18th!! Very well done on your savings!!
WOW weenapoops, you've saved fantastically!! :j Brilliant potting and belated happy birthday greetings to you!!
Here's hoping for you, Loz, for now you're doing marvellously!!!
That's the correct way to deal with cash that's hanging around, motivated!!
Excellent potting Pix!!! I hadn't realised that declaration day was Halloween! Spooky. Enjoy a lovely evening and a super Thursday, folks!! Pot whatever whenever!! :j
Sue
NB folks: Opening date for SPC 12 will be 31st October 2019

Went to the cash point earlier to get out my cash for the week. I ended up with a couple of £20 notes as well as some £10 notes. Not sure what others find, but I think it is easier to spend less if you have £10 notes rather than £20. Breaking into the second £10 note is somehow harder than handing over a £20 note. I guess because you are only handing over one item when handing over the £20. I did get some shopping I needed for the week which generated some cash for the pot. Was slightly over what I had intended due to an offer on toilet rolls - 24 for £7.50 which works out a lot cheaper than £2 for a pack of 4. Came home from shopping and swapped £20s for existing £10s in the pot. Pot is now over £65.Paid off the last of my unsecured debts in 2016. Then saved up and bought a property. Current aim is to pay off my mortgage as early as possible. Currently over paying every month. Mortgage due to be paid off in 2036 hoping to get it paid off much earlier. Set up my own bespoke spreadsheet to manage my money.0

SPC119 - I can't seem to add a signature yet, could this be because I have only recently joined the forum?
Added £30 birthday money and £2 loose change from my purse to my pot.
There was already a few bits of change in there as I put anything under 50p in there anyway.
Feel like this is a productive start.SPC No 119:j0 -
£15 in the pot for me. My op pot is nearly there - appointment with the surgeon on Monday! Hopefully op by the end of February. Terrible news the other day DD1 and her husband have split up. What's frustrating is she's not listening to advice to protect her home and finances and seems to have gone into her default setting of 'ignore it and it might go away' DGD 1&2 are understandably devastated, we're doing our best to support them allSealed Pot Challenge member 28
