Oh jakes-mum I'm so sorry to hear about your ill health. Wishing you and DH a pain free Christmas, but take it easy.

Ahh thank you VickyA (and everyone else that wished me well, MSE wont let me quote more than 3 posts :( )

Aha here she is at last!! Hello again jakes-mum, d'you know you've only been here ONCE since the new thread began!!!

Sorry to hear of all your health problems, I hope you're both well enough to enjoy Christmas with the children. You'd best up the heating though as it's set to be chilly a little while after Christmas! Time to hunker down then for sure! Your youngest will soon get into the Christmas spirit come Christmas Eve.

Congratulations to young Jake on passing his driving licence, our eldest grandson (father of our latest DGGS) passed his last month too!
You are so fortunate with your uncle passing on his potted cash, bless him!!
Good luck with finishing the blanket.

Blanket was finished just in the nick of time and the Jakester was trying his best to hide his big smile when he saw i'd finally made him one :rotfl: We had a lovely christmas, had a bit of extended family time in the morning, a bit of together time at lunch, then time off doing our own things in the afternoon (kids and hubby xboxing ;) me watching christmas films) and then more together time from dinner time onwards as we have christmas dinner at 6pm not the usual lunchtime. I have to say, despite us not being all together all day, that was probably the best christmas we have ever had, no arguing kids, not belly aches from too much eating, no overtired tantrums over games! We all thoroughly enjoyed it :D

Sorry to hear about your health problems Jakesmum. I'm on tramadol too and it's horrendous stuff. I can just about function with it but have to take morphine for break through pain and that knocks me out. Have you considered cannabis oil? I'm thinking about it, but its not cheap.

Ahh thank you Choccygirl, it does seem to help me sleep which is a bonus but im finding myself randomly closing my eyes during the day as im suddenly exhausted, not sure if thats the tablets or the illness.

Thank you James for your helpful ideas :) We have one of those fancy Nest thingys that controls the heating? keeps the house at a set temperature (and can be controlled from phones and ipads! we is well posh! :rotfl: ) and we are keeping it warm as we can! i'm avoiding going outside as much as possible as its just too darn cold .

Well I never did manage to catch up with the thread :o time is still not on my side but I am trying to pop back on at least once a week to see you all! Potting, gotta say something about potting . . . umm, Jakesmum has potted various coins in various pots but the amount is a secret, so secret even she doesn't have a clue how much :o She does however have 3 x £2 coins in her purse ready to go in the tin :D

Now, having had an oh so healthy Mcdonalds lunch, i have to decide whether to cook some sort of semblance at decent food or to say *rude word here* to it and we all have sandwiches  can you class McDonalds as a dinner?

  • Merry christmas to everyone. I managed to pick up a few reduced bits from the local charity shop. I didn't have the change and the lady working didn't have a £5 note so I got £7 in change that has all gone in the jar :)
