Yeah I’ll continue to take the taxis as it’s not worth the risk of walking alone at night. I figured out that even though it feels like a lot of money when I’ve added up the monthly cost it actually only takes me 20 minutes of work to earn my taxi fare home.

I’ve managed to add some more change to my pot so now have £4.35. I also took my old laptop into a local computer repair shop today and sold it for £50 so I’ve added that to my online savings account.

  • Yeah that's for the best I think.

Good for you, extra £50 is better off in your pocket!

  • Afternoon potters,

013 Deleted_User - I'm adding £6.50 to my SPC so the total is now £67.50.

Got some to add to my smoosh bottle aswell :p

  • I (#029) have finally gotten around to potting the first 60p of the challenge :rotfl: at last :rotfl:
  • Yayyyyy well done on your first bit of potting SSDD23 :beer::beer:

    Dxxx
  • Thank you Dolly :D x
  • SPC 090 - nothing to add into the pot or virtual pot, but i'm over the moon with my £69.45 so far.

I'm still chasing surveys and have just over £20 in onepoll....just another £10 to go until I can withdraw. I have sold a bit of furniture for £25 on ebay today, just hope they collect soon as it's in the way.

I have decided my £240 target is too low, so have increased it to £500! Being off work at the minute on SSP, that figure seems like it's a mountain to climb, but it'll help me keep motivated. I'm going to withdraw the shopping cash at the weekend so will hopefully be able to drop a few coins in from that.

TC1972 - It's lovely to know that your first online post is with us!:D I hope you enjoy our company, keep visiting often so you stay motivated, it makes a huge difference. All the best in your wishes to take your littlies to Lapland!! Magical I'd imagine. :j

A lovely gold star is yours, Frogletina, :staradmin and thank you so much for helping me out with your perfect welcome.

It sounds as though you know many areas where you can save money, Loz!! However, if you're talking about getting home at 2.30, DO PLEASE TAKE THE TAXI!!! It's far too dangerous to risk walking at that time of night, or anytime in the dark!! Money saving is great but not at the risk of your safety!
A good idea with the coffee and it's great to know you're thinking about your lunch time savings also, excellent!! Re your latest post, thank heavens you're definitely NOT taking the taxi!!
Brilliant work in getting another £50 in your pot!!! :T

Very well done, Tracy!! You do whatever you think is best, but money is still money either way. :D

Lovely to see you again, James. I hope you get to go to India in March, it certainly sounds as though they're reasonable with their prices. Well done in getting yourself some cheaper trips here too!!! There's a £5er in your pot no doubt!! ;)
Thanks for the hugs and kind words, James, you're such a sweetie, hugs from me to you also. :D

It's lovely to see you safely back, Lucy! :j A shame about the weather, though you and I both know not to expect great weather up in Scotland, especially in December!!
It's a pity Christmas Markets are so expensive, though everyone says the same. I'm sure most of us go for the seasonal feeling.

I'm so glad you've managed to bring money back for the other pot, a lovely sum for your sealed one too, and your very wise in preferring that lovely surprise!!! :dance:It's great to have you home!

Fantastic potting, Dolly Rocker!!! Yes, with the smoosh 'n all! ;)Ah, there's more gone in your pot now I see, well done! :D

Managed to snaffle TWO £2 coins today, I'll pot them when I get home. Will see if I can find anything more in the car or in my handbag :T

I had to stop and think what the devil you were on about, Thrice. However, I'm aware now and see exactly what you meant. :D Great work with the £2 coins and anything else you managed to snaffle!!

Very well said about Loz's journeys home at 2 am, 32b3!! I was horrified when seeing that time of the morning!!!! :eek:Aha! Potted cash eh! Don't worry, I guessed at the weekend you'd been using your card tut tut! :naughty:

Well done with the potting, siju, though I'm sorry to hear you brought back what sounds like a rotten cold with you! It seems a lot like what our neighbours have! I hope you're soon feeling a lot better. It's lovely to know you 'sort of' enjoyed it all though.

Marvellous SSDD23!!!!! It took a little while but you got there!! :T
It's fantastic to hear folk so thrilled at their savings, Choccygirl!!! You're doing incredibly well and deserve to be do chuffed with all you've done...so far!! I'll update your Target for you.
I've got a PA survey in a mo, I hope, I hope you get your £30 asap!

£15 has gone in the pot after shopping, and then ...an Optician appointment and news of an early cataract! Little wonder I was having to look skewiff with just the right eye. Ah well, more regular appointments now to see how fast it's progressing as it wasn't there last time.

COME ON ALL OLD TIMERS and HIGH NUMBERED MEMBERS:
Some of you may have noticed that ALL members are now on the one Members List as soooo many have not returned over the last couple of years. We need the list to be numerical rather than all over the place so PLEASE let's have folk change their Nos!

    Thanks a lot folks.

Have a good Thursday, folks, and don't forget to pot, if possible!
    Sue

Opening date for SPC 12 will be 31st October 2019

Anyone wishing to join us, it's NEVER too late, so please just ask, you'll be made very welcome.

£20 cashback from Prolific this week. That went into my amaz*n account for buying books.I had used up every penny in that account because of Xmas. Will try to be frugal on the book front this year, buying a lot less books and hoping to pay for all of them from cashback. No cashback available,no book buying!:)The girl who deals with the credit union wasnt at the history group yesterday,so I havent yet added to the first £20 added for this new savings year.Hopefully next week will see me add at least £30 of coins to that virtual pot.. All this Xmas shopping has handed me a lot more coins than usual :D
In the physical pot I am really irritated with my 5p coins. At one point a while ago I seemed to get loads of them, and was hoping to get to fill a £5 bag quickly, but lately I have got very few,and am stuck at around £3. Good job no one has seen poor old Dusty glaring into a pot and severely admonishing 5p coins to stop messing about and grow in number at once! I would surely get a visit from the men in white coats if my family heard me,but I am sure the SPC potters would be much more understanding!:rotfl::rotfl:
  • Yay to the prolific cash out dustydigger I'm a good few £'s away from cashing out with them, been very slow with the surveys this last couple of weeks - how very dare they!

    013 Deleted_User potted £4.00 so total now £71.50

Also £0.40p added to the smoosh bottle.

Night out on Saturday just got cancelled so I'm going to pot as much as possible this week.
