Ahhhh, go on! Be official! Doesn't matter how much you save. Also have a little look at having a holding pot, which I do eg for your window cleaner. I've also used an envelope before for my road tax. Whatever works for you.
I know how much goes in to my pot, but I'll be damned if I actually know how much is in there - if you get my meaning! No running total in my head - it's just a lovely surprise at the end of the year. Plus, any old odds and sods go in. :j
I use piggy banking to put aside money for yearly payments. Little bit put aside each week.Paid off the last of my unsecured debts in 2016. Then saved up and bought a property. Current aim is to pay off my mortgage as early as possible. Currently over paying every month. Mortgage due to be paid off in 2036 hoping to get it paid off much earlier. Set up my own bespoke spreadsheet to manage my money.0 -

A very Good Evening to you, Potters!! Not a bad day either, a few showers but I've managed to dry the washing between them. Thoughts of using the tumbledryer doesn't sit well with me, especially at the price it costs!!
For all our members who are poorly or feeling low in spirits, I certainly hope you get well soon! Love and {{{hugs}}} from us all. :grinheart
I'm so pleased you're just as happy with the No I've had to give you, claremylove. Thanks for having already put it on your siggy.

50p on the settee... anywhere will do her nicely, you too!!
It's my pleasure to make new family members feel welcome, claremylove.Have a lovely time at the Christmas Market, but don't forget - your pot will be hungrily awaiting your return!
Good old hubby, two potters are better than one! :j:j I so agree with your words about having a comforting feeling from money in your wallet, always ready if and when you need it.
One way or tother, datlex, you seem to be doing pretty darned well in potting, and whether you use virtual SP or not, to be doing the two would be great!! As you say, come October it's terrific to be given a lovely surprise, however much it is!! I've just seen your latest post, very wise indeed!! You obviously went for the better option, very well done!!!! :j
Very well said, Vicky! It's all so true.
Brilliant Thrice!!! What you said about you'd forgotten about it anyway is absolutely right, and why SPC works wonderfully for us all!!
A great idea about paying off your CC, you know what will work best so go for it!!!
I'm with Vicky, Choccygirl!Though if you'd said he didn't get paid until next week, then I'd have said to pop it somewhere out of (his) sight and if he'd asked then, it's there. So, there you go ...as he's paid today definitely pot it!!!
Fantastic potting, Aggie!! :j So, where are you off to for Christmas anyhere exciting?!!!A NOTICE TO ALL OLD TIMERS or HIGHER NUMBERED MEMBERS:Some of you may have noticed that ALL members are now on the one Members List as soooo many have not returned. Hi Sue-UU,
Yes, t'is me from out of the blue after all this time. Canada is fine and not too chilly just yet. Hope all is well with yourself and your family.
Thank you for the number.
2019 is the year that every penny is a prisoner so I'm back for inspiration and to be kept on track.
So to start me off I'm declaring #58 $4.20 has gone into my sealed up Lyle's Golden Syrup tin.0 -
These past few days have made me realise how much I use my bank card so I don’t seem to have much change to add to my jar.
I think using cash will make me more aware of my spending so I’m going to start taking out £30/£40 out of my bank account at the beginning of the week. That will cover my weekly food shopping, coffee/lunch at College twice a week and taxi fares back from work twice a week as well. That way I’ll actually be able to start adding some coins to my jar!
Currently I just seem to be moving small bits of change from my current account to my savings account but I like the idea of physically seeing the money being saved up as well.CC Debt:£450 Emergency Fund: £1,500 Sealed Pot Challenge 2020 #042: £750 -
Aha Trying to .
Feel like I'm on a roll with wedding savings,
Spare change savings and emergency.
I've only got £400 left to save for my wedding then we've got £5,000 !
and i have £40 in emergency. I would have put £100 away but need to finish christmas shopping
since i had to use christmas funds for expensive electric bill.
In my online change account, i now have £3.53 as 80p was placed.
Hope everyone is having / going to have a great weekend.
I went out last night to my works Christmas do and had a good time,
though didn't enjoy the meal. It was a free bar so I didn't pay for my drinks.*winner*

Some serious potting going on, you're all doing great!
I confessed to hubby about the 'housekill' as I'm calling it and he said I could have the junk - 46p in the tin!
Had epic shopping trip today which was hard going in a wheelchair, but I did find a whole £1 near the socks in primark. I could reach it so my daughter scrambled and collected the treasure :rotfl:

Hi all,
Hope you've had a good week. approx £1.50 made it into the pot this week. I also had to 'borrow' a little cash from hubby this week so the remaining 30p went into the pot!
Looking forward to the coming week. Drawn some cash out ready for a charity sale at work Wednesday and Lincoln Christmas market Thursday so sure there will be some spare change left over from both to go into the pot. Maybe more that the odd bits I've managed so far.
