    Morning all!

Finally potted the note! It was only a fiver but it's in the jar!

Mr Thrice emptied coins out of his wallet on Friday night  My god I thought I saw a moth as well :rotfl: Over £5 in various coins from him, scooped them right up before he changed his mind :rotfl:

£22.05 in my save the change account online, I'm going to pay that to the CC today and add it to my signature!

I got rid of an old snuggle chair we have been hanging on to for too long. It was too damaged to even give to someone, so I broke it all down into manageable pieces to take to the dump. Was hoping to find some coins stuffed down the sides but noooooooo, not a single coin!! A few sweetie wrappers and some loose peanuts, but not a coin :rotfl::rotfl:

    Evening everyone,

Lot's of change potted today - I emptied my partners change jar :). My moneybox is starting to look pretty full. Will have to move the money to a larger one soon.

I've also sold an old laptop on eBay so that will bring me over £100, is that okay to pot?

    Evening

I potted some change today for the first time in ages. I haven’t had any coins as I have been using my bank card.

    I hope everyone is well.

These past few days have made me realise how much I use my bank card so I don’t seem to have much change to add to my jar.

I think using cash will make me more aware of my spending so I’m going to start taking out £30/£40 out of my bank account at the beginning of the week. That will cover my weekly food shopping, coffee/lunch at College twice a week and taxi fares back from work twice a week as well. That way I’ll actually be able to start adding some coins to my jar!

Currently I just seem to be moving small bits of change from my current account to my savings account but I like the idea of physically seeing the money being saved up as well.

An excellent idea with the cash, Loz, many of us do the same!!!! If you don't mind me saying, you say you're having coffee and lunch at college, but that must be costly! Why not take your own food and a flask and POT the money you would otherwise have spent, the same with the taxi costs!! ;) If it's too far to walk then how about a bus?! Any cash in your pot is a whole lot better than giving it to others!! :j

It sounds to me, apricity, as though you're truly hell bent on getting as much cash saved as possible, both for the wedding, Christmas and those never ending bills!!! Brilliant going with it all, I really wish you well! :D
Just a tip or two with the electricity apricity ..always turn lights off that you're not using, however small the light. If possible don't use a tumbledryer as they EAT electricity!! If you're on Economy 7 then time washing to begin at about 5 am so it's done by 7 am. Whenever using any electrical appliances ask yourself if it's necessary and be sure it's not on for too long - then be sure to always turn it off afterwards!!

You asked what we do at the weekends. Saturday was spent at a Christmas Fayre and on Sunday hubby and I went to friends, we are all really daft like-minded and had a wonderful time! :D:D
I confessed to hubby about the 'housekill' as I'm calling it and he said I could have the junk - 46p in the tin!

Had epic shopping trip today which was hard going in a wheelchair, but I did find a whole £1 near the socks in primark. I could reach it so my daughter scrambled and collected the treasure :rotfl:

I agree about the amazing potting, Choccygirl, we're all going great guns!:dance::dance::dance::dance:

I had a real giggle about your hubby with the housekill, so you know what to do with any treasures around the house now!! :rotfl:
YAY!! Very well spotted with the £1 and well done on your DD in scooping it up so promptly!!! That's one thing about needing the wheelchair, you're closer to the ground for roadkill!!! :rotfl:Brilliant savings!!

    Fantastic saving, MrsShazbat!!! :D

Good potting, Raggle!!! It sounds as though you're all set for a good week ahead, good for you, with the potting too!! :j

Wow, great potting again, ETO!!! :j I so hope you're able to keep it up as it'll be wonderful for you all next Christmas!!! :DFingers crossed.

Well done, Aggie!! Fingers crossed that the bedroom is covered with coins!!! :rotfl: So, your off back home to Poland for Christmas, lovely!!! I saw a photo of a whole lot of snow there on Facebook yesterday! Enjoy the excitement of looking forward!! PS. Yes Aggie, that's perfectly ok to pot the £100 from your laptop sale, brilliant work!! :T
Some fantastic potting, folks, keep it up whenever possible!!

Hi there, Dragon Lily, and so good to see you still potting!! :D

Well done Vicky!! :T Keep searching just in case!! You're most welcome to the star, after all, where would I be without folk like you helping me! :D

20p is better than none, CapricornLass!!! ;) Be happy with every penny that comes your way!

ONLY A FIVER, Mrs Thrice?!!! There's no such thing as"only" here on SPC! You've done brilliantly, with Mr Thrice's cash too, all in all an amazing sum!!!! :j

Hello there, 32b3!! Lovely to see you back again. :D You've used a card?! A bit much, but you're forgiven. ;) See you soon I hope.

Luckily the college cafe is heavily subsidised and I take in my reusable cup to get 25p off my latte so it’s £2. I am only in College from 9-3 on a Tuesday and only an hour Thursday morning so could cut down the amount I spend there. I do bring in my own snacks and reusable water bottle already but am terrible at making sandwiches as they just taste dry by lunchtime. There is a nearby supermarket, which I have 15% discount off at, and I figured out the other morning that I can buy a large packet of roasted vegetable couscous to have for my lunch for £2.30 and then I can fill up my coffee cup with a free hot drink before I walk to college so that will mean I’ll only have to spend a couple of pounds on a coffee during my 2 hour break between classes at least.

Unfortunately I finish work at 2am so there’s no buses and most of my colleagues don’t finish at the same time so I can’t scrounge a lift home from them lol. The cost of the taxi back is £3.60 each time so I might just start walking the whole way home. It’s only 3/4 streets from where the taxis picks me up but the road I live on isn’t in the nicest of areas which puts me off. But then if I cut out the taxis I would save £30 a month:j

£1.53 eBay sale. Sitting in PayPal. Usually I leave it there till it gets to £10 then use it for a payment a day to an old debt
