Hi fellow potters, Hi Sue :)

Are you using Uber Loz? I sometimes finish work at 2-3am when machinery breaks down, I don't like hanging around doing nothing and so opt to go home... at my cost. The regular taxi firm by work charges me £18-19 to get home, I downloaded the Uber app after my mates said I'd probably save money, £14 was the last bill I paid them. Maybe you could compare, unless you've done this already? :)

Speaking of taxis. I've been planning my trip to India (March) and will be making use of a private taxi for a few days - really good value for money (more so if there are 2+ travellers)... Think I'm paying INR3200 (£36) per day, but when you do say two days (£72), the price then includes your drivers food & accommodation.

Not put much in my tin the past week, but I did save money on my bus pass, which has been costing me £23 a week for the past few years. The Arriva bus app lets you have the same ticket on your mobile for £18. Wish I'd seen it ages ago! Nevermind, that's a fiver saved from now on and I don't have to queue for the paper ticket.

Hope you are doing well Sue! Hugs

Back from our few days in Scotland, we had a great time apart from the weather! Went to Christmas markets in Glasgow and Edinburgh, both lovely but as most are, expensive. On the upside, we didn't spend anywhere near as much as we took with us so that's gone in the op fund.
Another £25 in my sealed pot, I'm not taking note as I go, I want a nice surprise how much I saved on opening day. Hope everyone's well

I meant 'only a fiver' in that I thought it was a tenner :rotfl::rotfl:

Managed to snaffle TWO £2 coins today, I'll pot them when I get home. Will see if I can find anything more in the car or in my handbag :T

When I lived in cities I used to use Uber as I found it cheaper than taxis.
I now live in a small seaside town and even though Uber has launched here the price from the train station to my house would be £4-£5 so more expensive than the £3.60 I currently pay and the app also now shows a .25p wait time which it didn’t used to have on it!

I think I’ll just start walking as I have a torch app on my phone and a personal alarm for safety. My house is only 3 streets away from the train station and mainly down a well light high street. It’s just last 100 metres that doesn’t have much street lighting.

I’ve managed to move £10 over to my online savings account so now have £210.62 and also now have £2.10 in my change pot so at least it’s going up even if it’s at a slow pace. I’m hoping once Christmas is over I’ll be able to add to my online savings and change pot more often.

Loz2018, your safety is more important than saving the £3odd, so in my opinion, you should carry on getting the taxi home. You don’t want to be walking about at 2am in the morning. Better to be safe than sorry.

£1.85 potted today. I haven’t been spending much Sue, just been using my card to do it :D

Loz2018 - I would encourage you to take the taxi too. It's just not worth the risk.

Well, we had a lovely weekend in London, however, I have now got a sore throat and the shivers. City life never suits me - it's all too much for my simple country soul, I'm afraid. Too many people, too much noise, too many germs! It never fails to impress me though..........

Cleared out my purse today and will be potting £7.70. Enjoy the rest of your week Potters. :)
