In the physical pot I am really irritated with my 5p coins. At one point a while ago I seemed to get loads of them, and was hoping to get to fill a £5 bag quickly, but lately I have got very few,and am stuck at around £3. Good job no one has seen poor old Dusty glaring into a pot and severely admonishing 5p coins to stop messing about and grow in number at once! I would surely get a visit from the men in white coats if my family heard me,but I am sure the SPC potters would be much more understanding!:rotfl::rotfl:

I've had that problem with copper coins, so I've now stopped saving them. It took me ages to get a bag of 1p and 2p coins - in fact most of this year.

However, I do save 5p coins all year. I find them too fiddly to keep in my purse and I now save them up all year and currently have £7 worth to give to my son in law at Christmas as he has been saving them in a large bottle for years.

I managed to put some loose change into my pot today so now have £6.80 in the pot.

I’m doing my Christmas shopping all online this year so I can use my staff discount (-25% off) but am hoping to have potted £10 by the end of next week. I will just need to remind myself to take cash out at the beginning of each week so I have change to add to the jar.

    Good evening everyone :hello:

    Loz - safety is paramount!

    Sue-UU - look after yourself!

£5 potted as my book club was cancelled this evening. It's held in a local cafe, so I tend to buy a coffee and cake there... but not tonight, so it can be potted.

Another £5 potted as the former Slimming World membership.

DH and I are heading to Vienna this weekend for the Christmas market there. I'll be ensuring any sterling which falls from his pockets will be scooped up selflessly (and potted on our return. ;) ).

Dustydigger - I hate the 5ps too. They too have started to accumulate on my kitchen table, so I'm keeping them in a big Sports Direct mug. When it's half full, they will find themselves being fed into a self service checkout at Sainsburys - and I'm sure that's where they all come from. The £5-6 that they represent will go in my tin as pound coins :)

Sue - I don't know much about cataracts, I hope it's not painful, it's been caught by your optician so I hope you can get it treated quickly.

Nothing gone in my tin for the past few days, but I am doing some overtime at work this week (I didn't actually have much choice, my unit manager came up to me on Tuesday night and said "you're in at 6pm the rest of the week okay" (pointing to his worksheet) adding 4 hours extra for each night :( I Didn't really want it, but he caught me off guard. Nevermind, bit extra cash next week, but he better not try that tactic again....because I'm waiting...and I've got my response 'loaded'.

    Off to bed, I'm toast!

Have a nice week all hugs

Hello! I'm going to find a sealed(ish) pot today :-)

    Found - £2.41 potted :D

Can I please join? My target is £500 which will be really helpful with the extra spend coming up to Christmas at the end of October.

I'm nervous about keeping a large pot of money in the house so I'm going to empty each month and put in the bank. Reading post 1 (which is v detailed thanks) I think that's ok?

    I'll keep a running total.

    Cheers :T

I used cash to pay for my taxi ride home this morning, instead of using the app, so I potted the £1.40.
I’m now on £8.20 and the bottom of the jar I’m using is slowly building up a second layer of coins.

I’m doing an overtime shift at work tonight which I’m not really looking forward to but I’m just trying to remind myself that it will cover the cost of buying Christmas presents.
